    Provider - Posting Rules

So true! But in all fairness about the disclosure, privacy, etc.  many companies list public details that aren't where they lay their head or perhaps have ever been. Fairly common in my research to see the same old incorporation company address or their datacenter provider. I don't advise...

    Provider - Posting Rules

Is this a regular problem for others?  What is the common means of reducing hijack attempts out there?

    Provider - Posting Rules

BTW:  If the admins don't spot a bad behaving member spamming/free advertising I certainly will. I've sent at least one unsavory company packing and glad to chase more merchants out of the vpsBoard temple.

I like to see Debian MINIMAL.   Also nice to see ready made appliances like the Turnkey Linux distros.

Google: "Gmail users shouldn't expect email privacy"

It's not about your boring life as per your email messages. It is about who is speaking to you, who they speak to, what the nature of things is and long term relationships these control nuts are keeping the details of. Content matching ads, no I couldn't care less about in the big picture...

    Provider - Posting Rules

Whois privacy for "legitimate" businesses isn't a good sign.   Private info for bloggers, home users,  seedling businesses, etc. well that makes sense. 25 minimum posts?  Is this the rule before a provider can make an offer?     Seems a bit high.  I am certain I've seen offers from folks with...

TrueVPS is now owned by RamNode

I am not aware of TrueVPS. I was chatting with someone :) and mentioned RamNodes partial NL offer and how I thought RamNode should do something to diversify, standout and grow. Well, there we are maybe :)

Google: "Gmail users shouldn't expect email privacy"

Google isn't being honest.   Google is cornered in a pending class action lawsuit that appears to have them forced to disclose their bad behavior. I haven't read the brief yet (lack of time right now). Remember a year or three ago when Google created this big PR site 'Which country subpoenas'...

VPS with a single SSD as storage

RAID0 I use with small machines limited to 2 drive channels.... Good for workstations to increase disk IO and nothing more. That said,  replaced that concept mostly with a SSD instead.

Remote DLNA server? Who is running such?

Reasons for not doing this: 1. Delay from time of download to viewing = slow.  Fast end VPS nodes out there to get files as/when needed and fast up and down stream (i.e. good to centralization and use from anywhere --- ideally). 2. Local storage is kind of dead storage.   I lack an upstream...
