It's impressive how bad Crissic got when Quadranet took over

OnApp added those Hybrid SmartServers to its panel in November 2013.  Maybe HVH is doiing a white label version of its not-sister brand ServerMania's OnApp based Hybrid Smart Servers since its plans are about the same right down to the same 1240v3's... NFO is a company I've recommended...

OVH Manager unavailable (96 hours and counting)

I haven't had any problems over the past 5 days.  Opera 36 for Linux with adblockers turned off for the OVH manager.  Possibly a browser incompatibility they introduced with one of their updates? Panel for OVH.com services.  SoYouStart, Kimsufi, and RunAbove have their own panels.

1 GB RAM but only 10GB disk space (no mention of SSD), 500 GB transfer, and 100 Mbps port, no backups, and in an age of snapshots, auto scaling, object space, etc they're using SolusVM and offering far fewer features than the competition. GoDaddy is $30 for 1GB but is managed and includes...

    cheap vps near San Francisco

BitCoin in the hosting industry case study... who wants to partake?

You might want to consider the law of diminishing returns because at some point adding xx amount of options will start to lead to negative returns when you factor in the time/labor cost needed to support and maintain xx payment accounts.

It's impressive how bad Crissic got when Quadranet took over

DrMike officially sucks.  I was just about to hit the post button and start a new thread about the Crissic relaunch when I saw his post.  I wasted all that time writing for nothing :P Quadranet is probably happy I decide not to start that thread because this would have been the title...

Microsoft creates AI bot that spams Twitter with Overt Racism

Reminds me of last summer's Google Photos algorithm screwup that labeled people as gorillas, and the Google Maps racist screwup a couple of months before that. "Troublemakers abusing Tay" is a predictable event that should have been dealt with during development.

Is this the end of ASO/EIG?

So the person who started last week gets the same severance as someone who has been there 5 years? Typical severance is:  Hourly workers: (Years employed) X (1 Week of Average Pay) = Severance  Salaried workers: (Years employed) X (2 Weeks of Average Pay) = Severance That said, since...

It's impressive how bad Crissic got when Quadranet took over

It's impressive but the bad support (not to mention the SPAM spewing out of that datacenter) shouldn't be too surprising when you consider Quadranet picked up a pair of key employees from CC/CVPS/123sys, a provider who was known for abysmal support and being SPAM friendly. Take a look at when...

I use OVH for production but I'm not about to take a risk with their regular support so I subscribe to their VIP support option €49 monthly (payable only annually, so lump sum of €588 every year, cost covers all servers and products in account).  Guaranteed 15 minute response time, priority...

REQUEST: Sell Me A PowerKVM VPS For Under $7

If any of you OVH based providers want to set yourself apart from the crowd and be the first to start offering PowerKVM VPS's out of RBX for under $7 monthly I might be interested.  A Power8 OpenStack offering would be even better as long as you keep it under $7  (it's been impossible to find a...

Virtual6.net Ceases Operations for unforeseen reasons :)

Ash addressed this on LET: he has backups but he can't afford to offer these plans with the same specs anywhere else so he's discontinuing the Virtual6 budget line and refunding customers. On LET he insisted none of his brands ever deadpooled but that depends on your definition of deadpool I...
