Stephen Hawking on AI - "Could end the human race"

Well...  I'll just leave this here. (CGP Grey is awesome) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Pq-S557XQU tldr: People are creating programs that are "learning".  One of the biggest things they have setup right now is that it sees the initial, it sees the result, it tries to figure out how to get...

Hm interesting news.  Any information if they're going to update the repos?

No downtime!  Yes!   No uptime too! That's like....  0% accuracy right there!

Black Friday and Cyber Monday isn't too far away. Who had the best deals last year?

Nice! I got a Turnkey Internet VPS.  Honestly first I was a bit underwhelmed by the network, Cogent and HE only.  However it didn't end up being too bad and I switched it over to Xen HVM for Windows Server.   Not bad.  Not bad.

    Android Phone Full Regular Backups

*gasp*!  But I didn't even own the right to the movie I backed up to "THE CLOUD"!!!  Google is literally stealing IP from hard working movie producers and actors!

    Android Phone Full Regular Backups

Howdy!  Thanks for the suggestion, but (as stated with previous Google Drive/Google+/Dropbox/Other third-party  suggestions): I'd prefer more of a self-hosted solution so I can take care of everything via CLI and prepare it the way I'd like to (I can also move it to be used with a script of mine...

    Android Phone Full Regular Backups

Yeah I was looking at those too.  RSYNC and then have a script server-side that does daily backups + weekly backups + yearly backups.  Instead though I'm simply going with btsync and have the application set to my policies (I just set it up last night so we'll see if it's working the way it's...

    Android Phone Full Regular Backups

Eh like I said before.  I'd prefer more of a self-hosted solution so I can take care of everything via CLI and prepare it the way I'd like to (I can also move it to be used with a script of mine if needed).   Eh I was thinking more rolling-backups type deal.  I think I'll be going more with...

    Android Phone Full Regular Backups

Ehh, while I do use Google my only issue is that I'd rather have it on a backup platform that I can manage myself. Issue is that OwnCloud has it manually push everytime.  I'm thinking bittorrent sync right now because I'd rather have the server "sync" up to it (even if it's a backup).

    Android Phone Full Regular Backups

Hm fair enough.  I was looking into Bittorrent Sync and their mobile app during this but OwnCloud could potentially work as well.  Problem is do they also have versioning?  Or any sort of versioning?  (By that I mean Owncloud)

Server with decent sized hard drive

That's because you're talking Dedicated server.   If you're in Europe, then I can guarantee some of our European providers here can get you a pretty nice VM. Worst case scenario, you'll always have OVH then.

    Android Phone Full Regular Backups

Howdy folks! So recently there was a situation where a phone we had lost all of it's pictures via user error (User deleted all of their pictures accidentally when they wanted to delete one picture).  So I'm doing what I can to try and do data recovery, but it's not going too well (Recuva's...

Server with decent sized hard drive

Haha seems someone has issues with OpenVZ. I can't say KVM would be 100% possible, but I do know it's 100% possible with OpenVZ.  RamNode would work (4 Cores, 2 GB RAM, 110 GB SSD-Cached, KVM) but is at $28/month.   If you were willing to settle with OpenVZ, VPSDime has a 250 GB HDD Storage...
