List of providers who offer DDoS protection.

DDoS Protection is mostly protection from inbound connections.   If your VPS were suspended because they were compromised and sending OUT a DoS attack then that means you've failed to secure your VPS.  If this is an unmanaged service (most likely), then this is the customer's responsibility...

    Has anyone heard of RackMine?

I've never used a site like that or even remotely like that.  huh.   Anyways if you're looking for specific geographic VPS locations then check ExoticVPS.com, some really useful resources there.

    Has anyone heard of RackMine?

It seems like a new operation that started up recently. Facebook page created November 19th, 2014.   Earliest Tweet was November 24th, 2014.   Google Search shows latest activity on WHT from 2003 (exact same thread as this for the first one, notice the signature of the guy who responded to...

    The Cicret Bracelet

Haha I remember people on reddit were hammering on that indiegogo page.  If I recall correctly most of those guys were really just marketing people and took a bunch of stock photos and photoshopped the "watch" onto it.

    Ferguson - No Indictment

I remember at our university during riots most police forces were focused on containing it (making sure it didn't turn violent).  Once it did turn semi-violent, and with everyone having cellphones you can definitely say there were tons of videos and pictures of people destroying property (a news...

What do you think about Docker?

Well Docker I believe is a fork of LXC (some people state LXC is a derivation of OpenVZ for the main kernel), or much simply it's just LXC with more features.  I believe within it's design parameter it's focused on more application deployment, scalability, and user friendliness.   When I say...

Computerphile Videos - Explaining Everything About Computers

So I've always been a big fan of the Computerphile account on Youtube.  They have some pretty basic but still interesting videos on stuff that's 100% related to our interests. Well, recently I've been writing parts of my thesis and decided to procrastinate by watching some of these videos...

Good VPS specs for remote desktop?

Yeah.  Well last I asked them about compression on Audio I was told their time is currently spent busy with features that they've been commissioned to add onto X2Go and if I wish to ask for that feature then I should consider looking into sponsoring that part.   I don't blame them.  Of course...

Good VPS specs for remote desktop?

Good VPS specs for remote desktop?

Haha... Well... I mean my specs are overkill but yours are just... Like shooting fish in a barrel haha. But seriously, a 1 GB VM is more than enough to run some pretty light apps on your X2Go Desktop. I've gotten it to work pretty well on 1 GB and 2 GB VPSes. I can't say much about 512 MB...

Good VPS specs for remote desktop?

Way too much of an overkill but I have my X2Go session on a dedicated server (Dual L5420 with 16 GB of RAM). With just my "idle" services running it's at an average of 0.06 load and 2 GB RAM. Now when I'm running pretty CPU and RAM intensive tasks (Modelling, running Matlab/R/Octave code, etc.)...

    The cesspit / chat thread.

If it comes with HBO (which should come with a subscription to HBO Go)... I would never leave your house. Also... Can I be a roommate? I promise to make rice every once in a while and not to stink up the house with my cabbage.

    The cesspit / chat thread.

Reminds me of OAG. "I want to share this base with you so we can forever zerg swarm" or something.
