what to do with this domain?

Build a marketplace for people looking to sell ownership of an existing VPS they have but no longer use. Not sure there's enough of this done to make it worthwhile, but there's definitely some + it fits the name and would be interesting.

    Whats your home connection speed?

Australia, so... 300GB/unlimited peak/off-peak usage on a shitty ADSL2+ line. Used to get about 18/1 Mbps down/up, now get more like 12/0.8 due to cable degradation. Telstra basically won't repair it because we're theoretically getting NBN access in February. At least then I'll be getting either...

    My private space

Not all that 'private' if it's publicly accessible :P. Maybe 'personal' would be a better term?

Stallion 2 - pictures and daily updates :)

Consider forcing/generating a six or seven word+ diceware password - they're plenty strong, and much easier to remember / type.

How do you take your coffee?

Black. Or cold drip from this place near my house. Or Irish, if it's that kind of day.

So I just opened my blind to see these big things staring at me...

Eh, I just kill anything that gets within a half-meter radius of me. Anything.

    SolusVM WHMCS Module Vulnerability

That's like saying SQL injections are an SQL security bug (hint: They're not, they're an input sanitization/validation bug). Curl could use a stronger randomization/uniqueness guarantee method for it, sure, but Solus needs to be authenticating the origin of incoming requests and confirming that...

This post made me laugh: l00k1ng for phr33 VPS plezze!

Not all algorithms are equal - they don't all have the same response to changes in input size. It wouldn't be that hard to find a purpose which has relatively small inputs/outputs but requires a ridiculous amount of processing time.

    Where are you from?

Yeah, Tas is a bit of a hole. But hey, at least you're not in Canberra! I'm about 20m outside the NBN test zone in Melbourne, which is fairly bollocks, although supposedly works in my area will be completed ~February 2014.

    Yep. Also, dropbears.

    Where are you from?

Melbourne, Australia. Home to >4 million, good food, great coffee, medium/low population density outside of the city centre, huge public transport network (trams, trains, buses). People are generally pretty cool, and it's one of the better places in the world to live long-term, as long as you...

    cloudware virtualization orchestration engine

It's unlikely to get much usage within this community without having at least KVM support as well; there are very few providers here that solely use Xen.

With the development of new alternative panels soon to hit the market...

I'd seriously suggest putting a KeePass database into a dropbox folder, or using LastPass, or some other alternative. Makes this aspect of things much more simple.

    SolusVM Vulnerability

The benefit an industry gets from using a variety of systems is not that any given system might be more secure, but rather that a flaw or weakness in any of the systems only affects a small subset of the industry at any given point in time, rather than all of them at once. Diversification is a...

Solus API manager - Now what?

Well, you don't have to abandon the whole project even if SolusVM were to vanish tomorrow; just adapt it to support other APIs/backends :).

HOW-TO: Protect from recent SolusVM exploits.

Yeah, sure, it's possible to write good code in most languages, even the bad ones, if you are a good coder. However, environment influences behaviour & cognition, and we programmers are a lazy bunch, so one will tend to use whatever solutions are simplest/easiest/most obvious/best fit the...

HOW-TO: Protect from recent SolusVM exploits.

I'm one of those people who tends to think PHP should be ditched entirely for all purposes. It wasn't built as a programming language, or even a scripting language - it was built as a thin wrapper tool around a set of C libraries - and it's only ever really been added on to in an increasingly...
