GVH suspended after minor use of 100TB plan

Yes, the bandwidth use didn't seem to be an issue, although it did seem they silently capped me at 160mbps a few hours into my upload tests. Ultimately I was suspended because my load was above 1, which happened anytime I used the disk.  So I think my problem was that I was on an oversold node...

GVH suspended after minor use of 100TB plan

Sure, but a normal host should not be monitoring what processes you are running unless you get an abuse report. I guess you can think of it this way, for someone buying a 4GB RAM server, it should be able to handle 3GB of RAM, so my usage to test the RAM seems legitimate.  For someone who buys...

GVH suspended after minor use of 100TB plan

I guess we can argue about legitimacy all day, but using my allocated bandwidth and resources and not doing anything illegal seems legitimate to me.   All I did was test the resources within my limits (even less than my limits as I only used 3GB of RAM out of 4 and ~2TB over the 2 days I had the...

GVH suspended after minor use of 100TB plan

I wasn't wgeting constantly.  It was one big file limited to 4MB/s.  Either way, it really shouldn't matter how a person uses the system.   I was just testing it for a couple days to see how the speeds held up and I was in the process of setting it up as a free proxy service for users.

GVH suspended after minor use of 100TB plan

Well, I signed up for the 100TB plan on GVH because, why not? I was suspended after 2 days of using the resources in my plan. RAM I wanted to benchmark to see how the system would handle if I actually consumed the resources, so this is what I found.  I ran a script to allocate 3GB of RAM. ...

    Launching A Cool VPS Business

We actually offered 50TB virtual servers for an reasonable price (~$120/month) a couple years ago (max of 4 per gigabit node).   Couldn't find a market for them, anyone interested in that much bandwidth and looking for a reliable solution is only looking for dedicated servers and are able to...

    24khost, where are you?

If it was truly customers who stated that we held their data hostage then where are they?  Certainly if they were that upset, they would have spoken up on here.  We never took any customers offline before the offers were sent out and gave a clear time frame if they did not respond back to us...

    24khost, where are you?

Martin, please don't make things up.  All of their customers were online and given free time even if they did not choose to accept our offer.  We even worked out extensions for those who contacted us back and asked for it.   We did not hold anyone's data hostage.  It is funny that the only one...

    24khost, where are you?

If screwing them over is offering many of their customers up to 3 months of free service, or honoring their existing time if they wanted to accept our offer, then I suppose so.  I guess these customers were much better off offline.

    24khost, where are you?

To be fair, we never "dumped" anyone.  We offered free hosting for a month to all their shared/reseller customers and offered an avenue for you to obtain your data.   We never arranged to take on any shared/reseller customers because we don't offer CPanel shared hosting services. We also never...

    Brainstorming an idea

Could be great,  it would be nice to be a part of a community where people can bounce ideas off of each other easily.  However, many different coding languages and platforms, what specifically were you thinking of?

Crissic Solutions LLC - You Asked, We Delivered!

Yes, I was just about to edit my post as I saw in serverbear it was 5660.  Now, that is a nice processor ;)

Crissic Solutions LLC - You Asked, We Delivered!

Not to be* pessimistic, but on your post you say your on par with SSD and upgraded to X5560.  The L5639 is faster and newer than the X5560, and even though sequential speeds might be as fast with 12xSATA, random I/O, which is the most important in VPS hosting, is still going to be far slower. ...

Race to the Bottom News: 2GB RAM, 2IPs for $1.67 monthly

I said 23 users per processor, which for an E3 would have been 92 users, ~184GB.  So 200 sounds about right with slim margins.  Still I stand with my point, 23 users on a processor means you won't ever realistically get to use that 2GB or the amount of CPU you should be able to with a 2GB VPS...

Race to the Bottom News: 2GB RAM, 2IPs for $1.67 monthly

I should add, this could be a way for CVPS to cook their books in an attempt to get investments but will be an utter failure in a long term business plan. If their bank (or investors) are only looking for cash-basis accounting statements, then receiving these $60 prepayments at the end of the...

Race to the Bottom News: 2GB RAM, 2IPs for $1.67 monthly

I'm sure it will perform fine at first.   Most people don't actually use their VPS for the first few weeks anyways, unless they migrate over an active web site right away which is a small percentage. 2GB of RAM is one thing, but they don't say how much CPU.  Considering $1.67/month and the...

    24khost, where are you?

If we shut down your server without contacting you then it was most likely due to us not receiving the proper information about your server from 24khost.   Feel free to email me or private message me with the VPS ID, IP Address and your email address.

I assume you mean SolusVM?  We have them all migrated to our system which is custom.

    24khost, where are you?

Thanks for your questions.  I have heard that their billing system is still sending out notifications, but they should be ignored.  They are just being automatically generated since their WHMCS is still online.  The only invoices that should be paid are through our system. If you have an...
