Why so high load on OpenVZ vps while it has tiny resources?

Typically load value is a good indicator (if a VPS is hitting 40.00 load then I would be concerned). Personally, we have an automated script that reboots VPSs when they exceed a certain load average as it can impact the rest of the node if that load is due to disk IO. We have a script that...

Why so high load on OpenVZ vps while it has tiny resources?

If you set the VPS's CPU to 2 instead of one, the load will drop from 40 to 20. It just means that the VPS is processing more than the 1 core it has can process so it's queue up work which is what that load number is.

    Stock Market

Technically I am a co-owner. My father and I each own 50% of the company. This is correct. I have a family to support and I like having health insurance.

    Stock Market

The only stocks I own are the free shares my company gives me each year. I almost have 182 shares after 7 years, but at $55 per share I'll enjoy the free money. It's the only stock I follow even though it doesn't matter since I don't plan on selling or buying while I'm still employed here. I do...

Writing a client management system for a side project, feedback wanted.

Pretty much. I'm glad I got back into it because this project is getting bigger than I had planned on it. :)

Writing a client management system for a side project, feedback wanted.

None, I'm not good with frameworks. :( I'm using parts of the PHP-Login Project for authentication but that's about it. I'm probably going to re-write the authentication part myself since the project is no longer being supported and I've already modified their code quite a bit to fit my needs so...

    Abuse Monitoring for OpenVZ

Nodewatch is good for a few things, but I have about half a dozen custom scripts that we utilize also. There aren't many options out there so you're better off writing your own scripts for better peace of mind in addition to Nodewatch.

Oops! Fixed the text at the top (was using it for troubleshooting an error). Glad to hear it's stopping the fake e-mails so far. :)

When did you realize you were getting old?

I'll be 30 next year and my number one goal in life is now to have the ability to take a nap whenever I want to. I don't necessarily feel old, I just feel more seasoned than I should be at my age, like I crammed 20 years of adulthood into 9 years of my life.

Writing a client management system for a side project, feedback wanted.

I was hoping to get some more testers to sign up to make sure all of the new features work: https://afreecloud.com Feel free to try to break it, also try using a fake e-mail address and a VPN/Proxy and let me know if you're successful or not. I need to work on the domain validation still but...

Heads up: OpenVZ updates will probably break your system

While a very passionate post, I feel it was wasted on a bot who's just here to increase post count and post copy+paste ads once they post enough nonsense. :( I'm going to watch the YouTube video now though so it wasn't a total waste. :D

Heads up: OpenVZ updates will probably break your system

False on both accounts. 1) OpenVZ has been proven to have much better performance than Xen and KVM. 2) Xen is two years older than OpenVZ. I know you're only here to advertise and your posts are just fluff so that you can post your ads (as evident from your other posts with similar bot-like...

    BuyVM.NET / BuyShared.NET - Shared - $5/year | Resellers - $2.00/month! Dedicated IPv4! SSD RAID!

LoL, for some reason I was thinking about Interworx when I talked about the outbound SMTP filtering. I forgot cPanel doesn't let you set remote SMTP servers so I'll figure something out. Ordered anyways. :)

    BuyVM.NET / BuyShared.NET - Shared - $5/year | Resellers - $2.00/month! Dedicated IPv4! SSD RAID!

All outbound e-mail is filtered through a remote SMTP server that uses ASSP to drop outbound spam and viruses.

Can you point me to an AUP or TOS? What is you stance on using a reseller account for free services?

I'm more surprised that you're surprised. Also, did anybody know that solus is latin for alone, i.e. how you feel when you open a ticket with them for support sometimes (I've heard this was remedied recently but I stopped opening tickets when they told me that include and exclude meant the same...

Why I do not like ReliableSite.Net

If you're going to be picky about hardware then colocate your own equipment. Don't lease a server and then complain that the hardware you didn't buy or build isn't to your standards especially when they do not advertise enterprise hard drives on their website.

    Backup Network anyone?

I used to use my Republic Wireless phone as a hotspot but then I upgraded to a new phone and there's no easy way to root it without making their software sad which is why I got the FreedomPop hotspot, it was cheaper than voiding my warranty.

I would like to point out that we don't do SSD caching or filtered IPs. :P

    Backup Network anyone?

I was skeptical when I bought it, but for $18 it wasn't a huge investment and the free 500MB was legit, I opted to pay for the rollover MBs because I want to avoid using hotel WIFI if I can so I'm stocking up on MBs before my vacation. People complained that you can't cancel the free trial and...
