    PayPal address confirmation

Just called them, and I had what I consider the best support experience I have ever had. I called in, and their automated system did an excellent job figuring out the type of question I had, then transferred me to an (accent-less English speaking) agent unbelievably fast.*  I was only asked for...

    PayPal address confirmation

A while ago, I applied for a PayPal debit card, but was turned down because PayPal couldn't confirm my address. Since then, I've had a case open with them wanting me to confirm my ID, SSN, and (of course) address. I got them to recognize my ID and SSN, but for the address they want a scan of a...

    More restrictions on offer posting?

My offer can only be payed via a wire transfer in Indian rupees, and the VPS comes with my own custom virtualization and panel. Both of which are extremely buggy, but hey, the offer is unique! Seriously though, while I'm all for "unique" offers, how does one decide what is unique? What does...

List of reliable sub 20$ per year providers

The second to last provider on the list is now called Secure Dragon, and an Atlanta location.

Secure Dragon LLC. - Now in Atlanta! (and still in FL, CO, IL, and CA) Happy Birthday vpsBoard, enjo

Understand. Was just hoping to get a good deal on some (almost) NYC VPS space. Ah well, I'll be sure to keep an eye out for future promotions. Best of luck with all your new locations (and your current ones as well!)

When the Weehawken node comes online, will you/could you reactivate this coupon for a few more uses if it's expired? I assume the four new locations will all have IPv6 eventually, right?

ColoCrossing, Quick to Get Large IP Blocks Issued and Faster to Soil Them

Today's LEB offer from VPSAce (with CC, as I'm sure most know) includes 25 cent IPs. I was tempted to pick one up to see if they were giving the IPs away because they were dirty (though the test IPs weren't), but I don't want to have anything to do with CC.

    14 Zettabytes!

    Sorry, couldn't help myself.

List of reliable sub 20$ per year providers

A couple changes due: the linked Crissic plan is (permanently?) out of stock, but I love this plan: 512MB, 2TB, 50GB, 2IP for $15/year - currently in stock. Also, LowEndSpirit now has Dallas as a location, so that should be added.

    New GeoIP & JsonIP API

Hold up, isn't there something in the Maxmind TOS/licensing agreement that prevents you from handing out this info for free?

    INIZ - NYC KVM Offers - NYC/LA/Amsterdam NL - $7/Year & More!

Looking at your AS info, it appears your three peers are split (roughly) in to thirds - I assume each one covers a different location? Quadranet in L.A., Atlantic Metro in NYC, and NForce Entertainment in NL, right?

    AIT Cloud Server Review

I'm still waiting for a cloud VPS provider that will offer IPv6. DO keeps saying it's in the works (and all of their ASes have peering and allocations), but it has yet to put in an appearance. AIT isn't at all set up for it (no peering/allocations), Choopa probably is but isn't offering it. IPv6...

    AIT Cloud Server Review

OK, what the heck AIT? I just got four separate invoice e-mails (different invoice numbers, mind you!) from AIT, each in the amount of one cent. They're due March 1st. There's an option in their HostBill to pay all due invoices, but that's still only 4 cents. Why would they want four cents by...

    AIT Cloud Server Review

You can select from versions of Ubuntu and CentOS on the order form (no Debian!), but after ordering you can't reinstall to other OSes. I suppose since it's a cloud you can just destroy the VPS and recreate a new one with the OS you want the other OS, but still - really??? Screenshot:

Choopa sends out Vultr to drown in the DigitalOcean

AIT disk speed sucks - dd test gives less than 50MB/s. Network is about 30MB/s down. Peering as a whole is "meh", but that's AIT as a whole. The website is terrible, it took me several minutes to figure out how to order. When I ordered, the VPS info e-mail was all garbled (supposed to be HTML...

What's the difference between DigitalOcean and other VPS companies?

@DomainBop See the second sentence of my post: Yeah, other providers do each of the things I listed, but DO brings them together in a very user-friendly way that lends itself perfectly to quick and easy use. That and the marketing and coupons. But they've made me in to a long term customer with...

What's the difference between DigitalOcean and other VPS companies?

There are several things that DigitalOcean does differently. None of them stand out too much on their own, but together the combination does stand out. First is hourly billing. Spin up an instance real quick for testing, spin it down two hours later, one cent. If you do keep it up for a whole...

Free Windows Server license with .edu address

If you don't have a .edu address, go here, select the middle option and click next (don't fill anything in - you don't need to). On the next page, under the "email address" boxes, click the checkbox that says "Check here if you do not have your own e-mail and would like to use this site's...

    WHMCS Ticket close review plugin

That is nice, I would think most people wouldn't want to bother. Could be because, like I said, it's nice and short. Especially when only one staff member is involved. New question: has anyone who uses this plugin made a major change due to feedback received from a ticket?
