    Sell me a VPS

Rules no OVZ <= $5 USD hourly billing >= 512MB RAM If you make an offer, it must be open to the general public, i.e. not limited to a one-off/exclusive plan.

    The cesspit / chat thread.

Good question. I've never requested one / wouldn't know.   Really? That's kind of hilarious seeing as how I imagine they could just as easily (or easier, really) make up their own justifications when requesting new IP space. Why in the hell would they ever have to 'use the same information'...

    LowEndTalk/LowEndBox Gets a New Manager

Unsure if I should attempt a 'Tales from the Cryptkeeper' joke at this juncture.

    The cesspit / chat thread.

If the 'IP Justification' form given to you by your provider is not a .docx in Comic Sans, it's probably a forgery.

    LowEndTalk/LowEndBox Gets a New Manager

I'm not one to defend LET, but at least they don't bother with the farce that is SSL. Let's Encrypt's favicon says it all.

    LowEndTalk/LowEndBox Gets a New Manager

I am in before the Good Hosting clustering crisis reaches Peak Meme and subsequently auto-sinks back into the nothingness from whence it came so that we may enjoy the iced tea again.

You received a full refund (despite being beyond the 30 day money back guarantee, no less). You're not my 'customer'. https://ellipsisno.de/terms/#refunds https://ellipsisno.de/terms/#SLA

    Provider vs. Proxy

Not quite what I had in mind, but looks like Netflix is the first to start shooting itself in the foot. Onward to historical outdatedness... Let me say that I'm not so interested in shaming providers re: their policies, but more curious about what, to them, constitutes a proxy to begin...

    Email Blacklists

Seems it can go beyond 'personal grudge' with Microsoft depending on the context (i.e. ideological, soft interdiction, spooks in adult diapers eating tapioca pudding whilst on the verge of diarrhoea, etc.).   But yeah, that's the sad thing about it. The block may be some Kafkaesque grudge...

    Email Blacklists

On the other hand, a lot of big players have abandoned Microsoft (as is evidenced when no one else joins in with their pigheaded blocking tactics) and communicate through channels that avoid them entirely, so the problem never arises to begin with.

    Email Blacklists

Yeah, it's a complete joke. Time to update the 'ol ToS. {VPS Provider} will not do business with or provide support to anyone using Microsoft as an intermediary for their email communications. No need to worry about losing business either. As a contingency plan, create an email account on a...

    Email Blacklists

An example of what it looks like when Microsoft starts going commando in Kafkaesque la la land: When such messages appear, you'll probably notice that the IP in question isn't on any other blacklists at all.

Thankfully France banned the guillotine in 1977, although I was reminded of that Death Grips song.
