    Down to 4 VPS

I am down to four servers from three different providers. Feels right to get rid of servers I don't use because they are too small.

    The Good VPS Provider thread

TacticalVPS offers good and personal support and a good network in Los Angeles with WebNX. I love their KVM servers. Use them to host important services. I like Ian and his way. BlueVM offers really cheap but usable KVM. Use them for testing and vpn. Support should have a better quality and...

What do you think of Ghost (blogging platform)

I like wordpress because there are tons of tools, editors and clients for all systems. Everyone can use wordpress. There are hosted service offers and you can migrate to your own hosted site. You can run wordpress on every hosting account without special requirements. Ghost is quite the...

Running your own failover DNS setup

Great. Thank you for providing a solution. It is running fine on my vps. I catched one difference. You reverse both arrays so I have to put my preferred ip at the end of the list. Can someone translate this to php?

    Kloxo installations compromised

A well prepared and executed attack. I hate old 0days that can catch such a lot of servers. At least every provider I am with was sending a email about shutting down all kloxo vps. Best thing to do is reinstalling the whole vps. You don't know if others add something else to your vps.

Running your own failover DNS setup

Great script. I was looking for that solution and now I can do it on my own. And I want, like Jack, to use nodeping as a uptime source too.

Future VPS Company Dead Pool Wager Hall

Rumors can kill a company. Nobody on a expansion ride can survice if 50% of its user base run away. I think some users here like to see company failing. With the mergings and buy outs through the last months people getting nervous and we can harm companies if they are posted here. This thread...

Target confirms leak of 40mil CC data

That is not true for credit cards in the EU. It is a pain to pay something online. Everything has to match. Even the telephone number. After the CVV you have to enter a online password on a Visa popup too. One information not equals to stored information and the transaction is declined.

    Ideas and suggestions for vpsBoard

Keep your provider if they are ok. People will always find something on any provider and you cannot forbid your provider to be part of this community.

Raspberry Pi powered by solar module

Raspberry PI FAQ: Typically, the model B uses between 700-1000mA depending on what peripherals are connected. The maximum power the Raspberry Pi can use is 1 Amp. If you need to connect a USB device that will take the power requirements of the Raspberry Pi above 1 Amp then you must connect...
