It goes back to the old thought process that there's two ways to increase revenue. Either innovate, or legislate new streams from existing innovations and investments. Seems unfortunately that they're eyeing the second route.

I must say, it seems lightweight enclosures just got interesting again. Seems this may very well be the space to watch in the future yet again.

As it stands, it could definitely be better, hence why I am waiting to see what sort of tunable use will be provided with the v6 API before throwing it out there as a feature, but that being said, I don't particularly plan on charging additional for it either.

Seems interesting. I know they had pushed out hubiC in french a little while back, so it's nice to see they've finally translated it. 

We have DDoS protection for our clients out of OVH Beauharnois currently, however we're holding off on pushing it as a feature until the release of v6 APIs and management, so that we can offer advanced control over the protection offered once the tunables are exposed.

Lets be honest -- any payment method that has the capability of reversing charges and chargeback requests should be approved manually on the first payment. Payments afterwards shouldn't be such an issue, but you simply can't trust fraud automation to catch a fraudulent charge as it comes through...

Debian, because I have a soft spot for it. CentOS, because the masses cling to it terribly. FreeBSD because quite honestly, I can put it somewhere and not have to worry on it being solid. Last but not least, Alpine Linux, for the minimalist in all of us ;)

I wouldn't be surprised if the enterprise businesses and government relying on Google simply shrugged while the two-man companies were on the phone shouting expletives at Google.

What I find a bit concerning is the trend of caring more about response times and less about actual resolution of the issue at hand. If you get a response in 5 minutes, but resolution doesn't happen until 5 days later, how useful is that?

The premise behind IRCCloud is nifty, however I've always preferred to control the infrastructure behind my IRC communications at least (i.e. SSH tunnel). Furthermore, the behavior of a few users could easily trigger some sitebans from uneducated administrators. It'll have growing pains for...
