Race to the Bottom News: 2GB RAM, 2IPs for $1.67 monthly

That's assuming people are aware of the new deals, typically only a handful of people care enough to ticket for a discount, and its not like they are going to get a refund anyways, it will just be a discount on the next renewal if at all on a previous yearly.

Race to the Bottom News: 2GB RAM, 2IPs for $1.67 monthly

I think you are on to something ... "Unlimited+1GB RAM" ... Edit: On-Topic, realistically they can likely provision ~100VPS comfortably per node based on how many frivolous purchases are made for that plan, I'd say a good 50% of them will remain unused for the next three years. Its likely they...

Digital Ocean Opens Another Amsterdam Location

Sounds pretty neat, I know alot of people were looking for the private networking. I made the decision to close my DO account a few weeks ago so I will not be testing it either.

Did anyone here happen to grab one? ... to test the oversold-ness.

(BETA TESTING) 256mb IPv6-only OpenVZ in Los Angeles for $1/month!

At this moment in time the IPv6 interest that I have seen is people tinkering with it or wanting to learn more about it. The production value of IPv6 is pretty nill due to the average consumer not caring about it really.  You still have to compete with the people offering dual stack VPS price...

    lowendspirit.com goes 503

The Lowendspirit website was down a few days ago also when I was trying to show someone. Edit: Great service by the way, looking forward to it expanding in the U.S.

The official Debian 7.x ISO's do this after installation.

    How to waste ad money.

I do have to add that "Coupone" is oddly believed by some to be a European spelling of the word. If you google the word its quite frequent in foreign sites.  (If you search put it in quotes otherwise Google punishes you for bad spelling). Frankly this is what you get when you hire a designer...

    PCI Compliant Hosting

Whether its actually beneficial or not from a monetary standpoint isnt the point. If there was a PCI-DSS/HIPAA/ISO I would inherently trust that they know more and care about security more than the average kid that just ordered a piece of hardware from CC and throw a bunch of people on it. Just...

    Question about OpenVPN 4to6

You can infact run a 4to6 tunnel over OpenVPN, however I have not been able to get it working successfully on my own just tweaking around with it. https://www.zagbot.com/openvpn_ipv6_tunnel.html Using a public 4to6 tunnel has its advantages and disadvantages, the main advantage being how easy...

    Running KVM inside of KVM

The bad thing about the whole KVMception thing is it generates I/O load and CPU load per instance so your essentially using x amount more resources than a normal user.

Shardhost Info - Urgent Client Action

My dealings are with U.S. Law so I'm not quite sure to what extent this may be applicable. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1998/29/contents ShardHost was a company registered in the UK, where their data was stolen, maybe someone took legal action against ShardHost.  The thing is there are...

    Lowendspirit.com goes shared hosting

To be fair the prices arent bad. I definitely do not like the name of the service, it sounds spammy.
