CloudAtCost Oversold, Underpriced, What to do? Launch new "Feature"

I know many of you frequent reddit as well -- has anyone else noticed a significant increase in referral spam across reddit?  I see it almost everyday on a different subreddit from different accounts edit:  Also, from what I'm reading, it looks like it's a "feature" that you can disable, I...

    DNS hosting options?

cPanel DNS Only servers (bind) -- we tried PowerDNS, but we ended up spending more time fixing issues with it than anything else.  We have virtual servers scattered across the country and with all different providers for redundancy.

    What's for Lunch?

Came here for lunch ideas - leaving contemplating more options rather than fewer.  No luck finding rainbow rice either - might have to go get myself a rainbow ice and settle on "close enough"

    Places to travel?

What do you want to do on your trip? Sightseeing? Nightlife? Croatia, Czech Republic, and Switzerland were my favorite places that I've visited the past few years.  I really enjoyed the sightseeing in France far more than in Italy.  I usually only travel in the summer -- when I was in Croatia...

    Stock Market

Almost the same -- local consulting/contract jobs are the majority of my business and it started out as a hobby, but getting to know people from around the world is the most fulfilling.  I love talking to and meeting customers from regions I've never been to.  It has gotten to the point where...

    Stock Market

Went for my MBA with a focus on finance - my capstone project was working with a local bank to develop a plan for increasing their market share over the next 5 years.  Easily the biggest waste of time and money - I'd say MBAs are worthless now.  An MS in finance (or anything else really) would...

    Stock Market

I day traded while I was in school (high school all the way through grad school).  I focused more on tech related stocks as well as conglomerates and probably earned more doing that than any job I've worked.  I also lost a lot of hair on my head and what remains turned gray (I'm not even 30...

BitCoin in the hosting industry case study... who wants to partake?

We use BitPay and Coinbase for bitcoin and Coinpayments for Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Dogecoin.  Bitpay is most popular for Bitcoin and Dogecoin is our most popular coin in terms of number of sales.  We had a few users show appreciation for the fact that we have several options for paying with...

    WHMCS Security Risk PAtch

All they've said so far in regards to what they fixed: Better off giving time for users to apply patches before announcing what was fixed.

    ModulesGarden Down

Just to answer this question anyway - we use the SolusVM (VPS & Cloud), cPanel Extended, DNS Manager, and we lightly use advanced billing (which would only cause an issue during checkout of some products).  I know DNS Manager and SolusVM Extended VPS were being used for a good part of the day...

Anyone else use Monitor.us? How many false positives do you receive?

I now have quite a few monitoring services going and Monitor.us is still the only one reporting downtimes -- however they have reduces drastically the past few days. I'll have to create a script that performs checks whenever I receive an alert from any of them... it will save me a bit of stress!

    ModulesGarden Down

We haven't received any complaints and everything seems to be working just fine -- are you still having issues?

    ModulesGarden Down

Seems like they're still working on restoring their services: http://www.forum.modulesgarden.com/news-and-announcements/downtime-t2237/ https://twitter.com/modulesgarden Those would be the best places to check progress.

    ModulesGarden Down

They were under a DDoS attack which affected license checking -- everything is working fine now and they'll be updating modules to fix the licensing issue when their services are unavailable.

    Backup Network anyone?

My main line is fios (residential).  My backups are: optimum wifi, t-mobile hotspot, tethering my iPad with AT&T, or tethering an iphone with verizon.  The only real "planned" backup was the t-mobile hotspot - everything else is just because it's available and convenient. I'd say I end up using...

Anyone else use Monitor.us? How many false positives do you receive?

I'll have to add hyperspin to the list -- i remember coming across it a while ago, but never signed up and forgot about it. Yesterday I added a cname to some of the servers with the most false positives (hostname1.domain.com cname -> hostname.domain.com)  "hostname1" was reported to have ~95%...

    Virtualmin error

I always recommend a fresh install with updates installed -- it may take a little for your domain to switch back to the godaddy nameservers.

    Virtualmin error

yes -- if you're using godaddy's name servers to manage your DNS, then point your domain to godaddy's nameservers.

It looks like your nameservers are not setup properly http://www.intodns.com/myukbox.com
