If you order a new VPS for a live website do you always order it from a company with DDoS protection or do you only use those companies after you have been a victim of DDoS?

What database tools do everyone here use? phpMyAdmin sometimes does not work when I install it on a vps and I want to try something else to use that will let me import databases and modify them from a browser on a vps that has no control panel.

What are good books you can recommend that discusses programming but not limited to just one language? Like something that is a introduction or basic look into it?

I use fail2ban on server with no panel but on cPanel use CSF.

How long is to long to wait? Most respond fast (maybe 2 hours) and some are always slow (sometimes 24 or more hours). What is acceptable to you? Also if you know someone with fast support please let me know. This is for support not billing ticket.

Like with domain names your information is shown in the whois information but if you run a whois on the IP sometimes it shows the provider or something else entirely. How come this does not show your information when on a VPS?

I like Europe locations but I have one in the USA in New York City and I like that to. I agree that it depend on your customer and where they are.

Got this email today They changed my IP address last week and now are moving me out of the country to the USA. I dont use this vps very much but I dont want a USA vps (I already have one). :(

Wordpress is okay but I want to use something new. What is a good blogging system that is not wordpress but still has lots of features? I looked at ghost because lot of people say its good but it seems to basic. This will be for testing and not real use for now.

Sorry if this is a newb question but what is anycast? I saw a provider that has "anycast vps", does this mean that my visitor has my website loaded from the closest server to them?

What about xen? I do not think my hosts will have reason to do this but found it interesting and worrisome to as I did not know previously.

I read that it is easy to enter vps without permission with openvz if you are the host. Is there anyway to stop this so they must ask first?
