Seafile RAM usage in a VPS

You can go to "The Pub" forum on vpsB (which has got the highest no of posts) and do your things there.

Seafile RAM usage in a VPS

I don't know about Seafile, but I have once installed syncthing (syncthing.net) on a 256MB vps (or 512MB vps, don't remember now). It worked OK, but haven't used it much. I think it took about 100MB ram usage with a simple folder sync (with a few hundred files). I remember it was similar to that...

Seafile RAM usage in a VPS

You don't need to have dyslexia to "first read" like that way. I too did it your way. Test yourself by doing a small writing test which is to "write from 1 to 200" (in numbers only, not words) on a paper continuously without stopping or mistaking. Most would fail (unless with more practice). So...

    Has anyone used BoltVM?

Its been many months since @Steven F has removed "BoltVM" from his signature, now only has DediCube link on it. @drmike , how do you know that his aunt was sick? Of course you are the omnipresent in the hosting industry, but still how this ...  :)

Which kind of support is most helpful?

check what? I think "the kind of replies that helps the customer and solves the problems". Its not only in hosting but applies to any business. The problem is that the provider has to know "what is the problem". :)

    Let's talk about SPAM

I think @Hxxx wasn't asking about "spams sent from his/her server" (even cPanel has the feature to limit the mails sent) and I assume any genuine provider would do that. The actual problem is spammer(or anybody) is able to send many mails per minute with the current(actually very old) email...

Best Linux tool for ripping a DVD?

Now I recall the one I used is WinFF.

Best Linux tool for ripping a DVD?

won't just a 'dd' work? (or some that makes it as an iso) I think the time it takes for the conversion could be compensated with the upload. (let the receiver do the conversion if needed). I tried with handbrake (when I was with windows) some time ago, but I remember it didn't work. I used some...

    Let's talk about SPAM

The PROBLEM lies with age old email/dns design. It was designed way back and the current gen definitely needs a new system that specifically addresses the spam issue.  Probably a constraint that you shouldn't be able to send mail to oneself just by having his/her email address; you would...

    Let's talk about SPAM

One small technique:  you need to use more than 1 email address (say 3), other addresses can be forwards to the main address. One for friends, one for work, and mainly one for the rest/spam. You use the 3rd one (i.e the spam address) where ever its of less importance (ie. if there is some...

FYI: Planned vpsBoard maintenance will be occuring later this evening.

Why pay and suffer? Use opensource like FluxBB (they are probably moving to Flarum http://flarum.org/ with next version). You could see it ( http://demo.flarum.org ) now and possibly use it with a new site (A dediboard?)  ;-)  I just clicked on a 60+ posts thread and it shows all the posts on...

Possible to set the time gap after which the next post isn't merged with previous post? I have waited a while for it to be not merged, but it got merged with my previous post. The same ads could be repeated and the advertisers could only feel happy about it. And currently you are not having one...

Yes, better now. Another idea/possibility: instead of having the ads only on the top, how it would be if it is placed after every 5 or 7 posts (all the small square ads can be put one next to other, and you can even have 2 more of it), Only the big square ad wouldn't fit, may be pushed to the...

    Posting replies

I don't know whether 'user-agent' is related with this (I haven't done anything with it on opera), but opera 12 on Linux has the same issue. When you click "Reply to this topic", you won't have editing area any more (probably opera latest version wouldn't have this issue). But there is no...

Here is how it looks for me: http://i.imgur.com/eYoIpZ1.png I am on 1360x768 resolution (most common/minimum on wide monitors I think), and the main content width (still) seems to be less than 50% (understandable if other columns have content, here only a few ads on top, after that plain...

Is the pageload time and general speed of the website better for you after the recent forum upgrade?

Though AUS is a developed country, it is still no way near US/NL/FR/DE/etc or even the UK as far as hosting is concerned. Probably same with ISP. :) That's why an aussie developed rsync, bandwidth efficient file transfer logic. Just kidding.

Is the pageload time and general speed of the website better for you after the recent forum upgrade?

Definitely faster It even shows/notifies about new replies when we come back to the thread's tab some time later (without full reload of page). And holding mouse a few seconds on a thread title shows first and last post.

FYI: Planned vpsBoard maintenance will be occuring later this evening.

The width for the main content area (i.e the middle column) could be increased. Width for 3rd column is understandable (for 'banner ads', 'recent topics', etc), but the 1st column width (for 'profie pic') seems to be higher and eating away the main width.  Even the far left and right border...

the link to 'new contents' is made simple with this upgrade:  vpsboard.com/new-content but may be it only works if signed-in as of now (i.e login data remembered with browser), will probably be fixed soon overall the upgrade is good and fast (except may be some minor things with editor)
