This month, HackerBoards.com and Linux.com sponsored a 14-day SurveyMonkey survey that asked readers to choose their favorite three Linux- or Android-based open spec single-board computers from a list of 81.

The TOP 10 boards are following:

The results did have three surprises for my view on SBCs:

    1. Odroid on 2nd and 4th place. I did not know that the boards are so known and in use.
    2. Creator Ci40 - I did not know this MIPS-based board. It runs OpenWRT and is a stunning hub (802.11b/g/n/ac 2x2 Wi-Fi, 802.15.4 6LoWPAN dedicated chip, Bluetooth 4.1).
    3. BeagleBone is still alive - but that just means that SBC are not used for servers only.
