A better comparison would be the MX550, which is $250 on Amazon. The MX550 also has capacitors, which is a nice feature that I believe the 840P does not have.

Used.  Seems prices have dropped a ton more since I last checked.  Lets do $230/ea shipped.

What is the reason for selling?

Needed a greater density than 512GB per SSD so we upgraded.  These are all less than a year old, many under 6 months even.

Price dropped: $230 each, shipped.  Bulk discounts available depending on quantity.

Considering most are under 6 months old with the oldest being just under a year this shouldn't pose a problem for personal use.
