Advantages of KVM for LNMP/LAMP

Hello,

I run a small community with Ramnode 1024 SKVM.

The service as you know is excelent but do I have any advantage running KVM over OpenVZ?

Swithing to OpenVZ I can run a 2048 almost for the same value, but I don't know if the isolation and the impact others have in the node will influence my VPS.

There are countless different advantages for both, I don't personally like OpenVZ but in your case there isn't much need for a fully virtualised system, not running anything special so you can cut out overheads and such, there are obviously factors like providers overselling to a point where it affects performance detrimentally which I'm sure you won't have a problem with Ramnode. There's also security of containers and such, but in general, in terms of performance OpenVZ forgetting other factors such as overloaded nodes etc., OpenVZ will be faster especially in a hosting setup such as LAMP/LMNP.

KVM is probably better if you have more 'special requirements', lots that I can think of but not many that would apply to a hosting setup.
