I am telling you, you need to call.  Also, if you only submitted one ticket and then waited, at the very least I would submit another.  If they didn't see you as the owner of the ips on your request a lot of times they will disregard the request and just close it.  If you really are interested in an outcome your going to either have to call or keep bugging them.

Cheers!

@TheLinuxBug submitted three removal requests so far.

I've never used Barracuda and hadn't really thought anything of them before, but I pretty much have no respect for them now. Gonna have a hard time trusting anyone would use or defend them after this.

Why not just call and get the issue sorted?

Doesn't make sense to force your customers to wait for 2 weeks just because you don't want to pick up the phone or because of a personal vendetta.

@Tyler it's a single IP that they're sitting on 'for no reason', doesn't effect multiple clients. Being coerced into a phone call would be far beyond insulting At This Juncture.

I, too, dream of becoming a SPAM traffic cop one day and holding up the STOP sign for awkwardly prolonged periods of time without rhyme or reason.

EDIT: Not sure why you're suggesting I have a 'personal vendetta'. Do you even know what that means?

Thanks for the insult there.

Your refusal to contact them through phone and use only your preferred method of contact really says a lot about the priority of customers' concerns, even if it is just a single customer.

Confused. Why would one be required or expected to use a phone?

Yeah, I get that. But why should this be a requirement? They should be handling removal requests promptly, regardless of communication method used.

Excuse me? Your suggestion that I have a 'personal vendetta' against some faceless scammy spam traffic cop organization that makes no effort to explain why they spuriously entrap IP addresses means that I have insulted you? Lol...

Your refusal to contact them through phone and use only your preferred method of contact really says a lot about the priority of customers' concerns, even if it is just a single customer.
You have no understanding of the context and situation here, although your attempt to shift the blame using only the limited information available in this thread says it all.

Fourth attempt from a few minutes ago.

4th attempt, original confirmation number from May 20th: "XXXXXXXXXXXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX"

Redundant text: So far no reason has been given as to why this IP was added. To this day, it still does not appear in any other RBL.

The listing is likely completely spurious as the IP has not triggered OVH's spam mechanism since I started using it.

Almost one month with no response from Barracuda yet.

Your confirmation number is XXXXXXXXXXXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

June 22nd, 2015. More than a month with no response to four removal requests so far.

How anyone would ever consider using 'Barracuda Central' at all is beyond me.

Your refusal to contact them through phone and use only your preferred method of contact really says a lot about the priority of customers' concerns, even if it is just a single customer.
@Tyler in different words, the IP in question is not really even used for email to the extent that it might cause a significant problem for clients, and certainly has not been sending any spam this entire time. It becomes an ongoing test to see how far Barracuda's negligence, incompetence, spurious entrapment, etc. can be stretched, marking their failure at what they purport to do. (More than a month and they haven't even bothered attempting a pretext yet). Praying for Hanlon's razor and so on.

I've delisted a few IPs on Barracuda, I was actually surprised by their fast (less than 24hrs) delisting (compared to other RBLs)... One thing, their captcha is such a pain in the a$$

Not sure why they went all awol on you...

Yeah. Well, I guess negligence and secrecy trumps transparency and 'being responsive' in the IP entrapment game. :)

Out of curiosity what did you say in your first delisting request you've made towards them?

@HBAndrei

Hi,

Why has this IP been listed? It's currently in use as [...].

If it's not a false positive, I'll search for the source of the spam and stop it ASAP. Please point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Request Received

Thank you for submitting your request. If this is your first request, your IP address will have its reputation increased to "normal" for 48 hours while we investigate. It may take up to 1 hour for the reputation increase to propagate to all Barracuda Spam Firewalls globally. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience.

Your confirmation number is BBR21432176731-09464-32032
That was sent on May 20th at 9:52 PM. The IP still does not appear in any other RBL at this time.

Clearly something is really broken with the way they handle things. Even if I'm the exception to the rule for unknown/undisclosed reason XYZ, there has been a total non-response for more than 5 weeks now! How is that even remotely respectable behaviour for any organization that involves itself in the conceit of RBL maintenance?
