Best cloud hosting platform or company?

There are many different cloud companies and I am not sure which one is best or a correct cloud. Can someone tell me the main difference between these companies: digital ocean, amazon cloud, vultr, iwstack, rackspace, linode and others? I read that clouds are setup different and sometimes disk space is slow, which one would be the fastest?

Performance wise, Linode seem to score pretty well.

DO, Vultr, Linode are mainly just VPS hosting. AWS cloud, iwstack, rackspace and LSN are slightly more towards the HA cloud.
