Facebook offline?

https://facebook.com / facebook.com offline for 15 minutes now, no updates from their twitter or any statements made yet. 



EDIT: Online now, running slow.

EDIT(2): Offline again, displaying "Sorry, something went wrong." page.

EDIT: Online now, facebook released a statement in-regards to the worldwide downtime.

Haha I bet you it's still part of that social experiment Facebook did. A month or so back they had Facebook go down for like an hour or so for a select number of people just to see the response. This was probably the large-scale version of that.

Or... someone really did trip on a wire.

Same here, it was being rather slow the 10 minutes before hand aswell. And then just dropped completely offline.

Had trouble accessing some content earlier, i.e. some images and links weren't loading. Can live without Facebook for a while though, hardly use it.

Experimenting to see how many people typed the Facebook URL in and panicked because they couldn't get on to talk to their friends

Everytime Facebook goes down my twitter feed fills up with "OMG Facebook is down" tweets ... 

It's the worst that can happen in some people's lives. 


If people would spend less time on facebook and more time doing their job or trying to create something or do something productive, rather than looking at people's photos, the economy would be in a better shape and the world would be a better place.
