Keystroke logger for character count?

While going for a run last night I was wondering if there was a keystroke logger that measures how many characters or words you type a day. Kind of like those pedometers people wear around the office to track how far they walk each day. I'm not for sure how to search for this because I do not know what it would be called. Would be neat to see how many words or characters people type each day I think.

Can try WhatPulse, but I think you need to register an account to use it at all

I  used to use WhatPulse many years ago, however that kind of Software is a bit scary for me as you're willingly installing a keylogger.
