{Newbie} Starting up applications in windows without logon

Hi all,

I was offered a free VPS service by my brokerage company, and it is the first time I'v used such a service.

It's pretty striaght forward; I login with remote desktop to a Windows server 2008 R2 system.

I run trading apps with automated trading, and those need to run non-stop.

One time I logged in, there was a message with something like "System was rebooted" and of course the trading apps were not running.

I want those apps to survive any reboot. So I tried putting those apps in the "Startup" folder, but they only run once I log in.

Can anyone help me reach a solution where those trading apps will run automatically after reboot, even without me logging in?

It's just this.  If you want your application to start upon restart then start it as a service.

But that is not recommended security wise.
