This sounds kind of unsustainable--you're beating the better known storage plans and attracting disk hogs like me who have TB's of data scattered around.  Are you ok with that?

Our nodes on average are at about 50-60% disk used on a full unit. Feel free to use your disk space.

Our older nodes are, we ended up having issues with density and openvz process counts, so we went from 12xxRE4's (3.5" 7200rpm drives) with 96gb of memory to 48GB of memory and 6x2.5" 7200 RPM drives. We basically cut the container count in half, so IO performance should technically be better on the smaller nodes.

This ad appears to have the old info, not sure how I managed to gloss over it. I'll get it edited for next time and put in a report to adjust :p Sorry for the confusion!

I went ahead and got the 512MB OpenVZ and the network performance is pretty good (I transferred about 75gb almost immediately).  The disk space is sure nice and the price can't be beat.  There's a minor issue with one of my scripts not working the same way as on another one of my servers, maybe due to some difference in the Debian templates.  I'll try to figure out what's going on but it's not critical.  I don't have any problem with the TOS restrictions against IRC and so on, since I'm using the VPS predominantly for static storage.  I do think the restrictions would potentially be annoying if I didn't have other vps's that allowed these things.  I might want to run a small, closed ircd someday (friends and family only) and don't see that type of thing as subject to the same ddos issues (etc). as ircd's that are open to the public or a larger/more obnoxious userbase.

I forgot to ask about getting a vps set up with no ipv4, to get around reporting requirements for address space justification.
