Shared hosting is cheaper compared to VPS and dedicated. For small time business website or personal blogsites, shared hosting is highly recommended. In shared web hosting, there is no need to concern yourself in case technical difficulties occur on your server, the hosting service provider will taking care of the administration and maintenance of the server.

You also have the risk of bad actors on the server you're on. Some hosting companies load up shared hosting boxes with hundreds of users who get hacked, spam, or heavily utilize resources. You can end up in the wild west on shared hosting on a poorly maintained box. Shared isn't always better.

This. People usually do start on shared Hosting as they’re on a small website and/or don’t have much traffic so they want to save money, which I can’t disagree there. But, it’s best to get VPS/Cloud Hosting as that way you have your own server and it’s not shared with others. Especially if you have your own business, that way you don’t have to worry about peoples websites being a target for DDOS so your website wouldn’t go down as well (on a shared server that is). This way you’d have much better uptime and you’d be receiving much better quality and most likely support since companies with no shared hosting might have more time to assist customers.

Hello,

Just as a precision, shared hosting usually uses a shared IP address, but VPS uses dedicated IP address. Nowadays, low-end VPS and shared hosting with dedicated IP address have approximately the same price.

It is not cheaper, Its all depends on your requirement to host the site.., for price wise it will be less than VPS and dedicated servers.., You have to choose carefully which service will needs you to host the site..

If you have limited traffic and visits on your sites, you can go with shared hosting plan if you required more resources and getting huge traffic on site, later upgrade the plan to vps or dedicated server, I would suggest you to check with scopehosts.com for reasonable hosting plans

The prices are roughly the same, but a VPS requires a bit more experience with linux or a free control panel. While on shared, you most likely have cPanel. I'd say it depends on your technical skills.

Shared hosting is cheaper as its IP and all resources are shared.
In VPS IP and Bandwidth and Space provided to you will be yours. It again depends on type of VPS.
In Dedicated hosting will be done in single server which is dedicated to you.

While we try not to overload shared and even under use in order to not over-stress performance, some companies will sell the limit and will force downtime to add more ram / space in order to keep profits at a max.
