New DoS Protection System!

All Versaweb dedicated servers now include basic DDoS protection! This new system, developed exclusively for Versaweb, actively monitors our entire network for DoS attacks. When an attack is detected, our system will automatically export a null route to our upstream bandwidth providers, stopping the attack in it’s tracks. Only traffic destined for the IP being attacked is dropped, thereby protecting the rest of our network.

For users that need a greater level of protection, we also offer Enterprise DoS Protection + Mitigation. Powered by BlackLotus, our Enterprise DoS Protection + Mitigation service offers full mitigation of attacks up to 10Gbps peak / 2Gbps sustained, keeping your site or application running even during an attack.

***LIMITED TIME DISCOUNTED PRICING***

Add Enterprise DDoS Protection Powered By BlackLotus to any server - Only $20 per month!

(protects up to 10Gbps burst, 2Gbps sustained attacks)

Q: How soon will my server be online after my order is placed?

A: Once your order is verified by our billing department, your server will normally be online within 1-2 business days - in many cases, we will even have your server up the same day. Please note that if your server is ordered with upgrades, like additional disks, memory, RAID controllers, or other special configuration options, it can take a little longer.

Q: Can I upgrade my server?

A: Yes! Please see our order form for available options and pricing. If you do not see what you need on our order form, please contact our sales dept. and we'll do our best to come up with a custom configuration for you. We also offer discounted licensing for many popular control panels such as cPanel, Plesk, Interworx, and DirectAdmin.

Q: Can I get more IP addresses with my server?

A: All of our servers are deployed with either 4 or 5 usable IP addresses, depending on the particular configuration. If you need more IP addresses, you can order them via our website once your initial order has been completed and your server is online. We do require justification per ARIN guidelines for all IP allocations. We allow a maximum of a /25 per server (125 IP's). DDoS Protected IP's extra - contact sales for pricing.

Thanks, and have a great day!

i think Versaweb is not good for reselling as they may suspend whole server because of resold clients abuse at assigned IPs.

"Our abuse dept. has determined that suspending individual IP's is simply not always an effective way of managing abuse issues"

Hello @ICPH,

The key words there are "not always".  I don't know the context in which you were provided with that response, but we would generally suspend an entire server only in cases where there are multiple abuse reports across multiple IP's on the server, the owner of the server is non-responsive to handling issues that we forward to them, or there is a pattern of habitual abuse issues that needs to be dealt with.  We work with hundreds of VPS providers and other customers who use our services for resale and have a very flexible policy when it comes to allowing our customers to resolve abuse issues.

Let me provide an example.  We had a customer recently who signed up for a server and requested a large block of IP's purportedly to facilitate VPS hosting.  We later discovered that his actual use of the box was to run XRumer, and he would rotate IP addresses on an hourly basis.  It wasn't long before we started seeing complaints on multiple IP's tracing back to that server.  It quickly became pretty clear what was going on, so we suspended the server entirely to put a stop to the abuse.  Should we have instead null routed one IP after another, allowing this customer to burn through 125 IP addresses before his entire box was nulled?

Our abuse policies are very much based on common sense.  Don't do anything stupid, and you won't have an issue.  If we do send you reports that your box is facilitating some kind of abuse, take care of it.  Otherwise, bad things will happen.  It's not exactly rocket surgery, if you see what I mean.
