I currently have i7-3770, 2x 3TB SATA drives, 32GB ram, and 20TB bw on 1gbps network, 1x ipv4 and /64 ipv6, at $28.57 euro/month (about $32 at current FX).  Can you come anywhere near that?  Thanks.

That is no where sustainable; if we could we would.

We sincerely appreciate the opportunity however. Should you have additional opportunities please e-mail [email protected]

So then you don't REALLY offer price matching.

There are two options in the headline: match it or beat it.

Sounds like false advertising.

So what qualifies as sustainable?

That leaves the door open to some serious bending of the "rules".

Poor practice.

Personally I see a big difference between a i7 and a Xeon.

Kind of like comparing a Subaru brat to a kenworth.

Match it or beat it.... Why did I know this was going to go wrong?

I take issue with such an offer.  It's a bad gimmick for short-term gains on sales.   If you aren't matching or beating things at large (which could include Hetzner, OVH, and startups with unsustainables) then your offer needs some sort of terms up front.   Such as with proof of invoice and from a company of whatever age or size.

Otherwise it truly is false advertising.

Xeon L3426, 16GB DDR3, 2x 2TB Drives, 1Gbps unmetered, 1 IPv4, 1 /56 IPv6, $36.59/mo USD.

Can you match or beat that?

Okay, if we're going to be facetious, Adam/Dustin how about you define what 'sustainable' means in your offer?

That way you're not leading anyone up the garden path and we all know exactly what you're offering here.

Thanks.

I think any one with a brain knows what "sustainable deals" really means.

Take a minute to read what he asked us to price match "Xeon L3426, 16GB DDR3, 2x 2TB Drives, 1Gbps unmetered, 1 IPv4, 1 /56 IPv6, $36.59/mo USD."

Is that sustainable for ANY business? Seriously? "1Gbps unmetered"

Common sense here. Nothing needs to be more clarified.

Bad approach.   I doubt the FTC has an exception for common sense or sustainable.  Things get read at face value.   Not to bust your chops specifically for any reason, just saying.

That unmetered Gbit sure, I get that offering even the box at that price is deep digging.

@willie where did you find your box there?  FX?  More info.

Hey guys,

We won't be approving price match requests or offers in this thread as everyone's situation and case is almost always different.

For example, we do not stock i7's nor L3426 processors. If we are unable to match it (whether it be due to hardware we do not have in stock, unsustainable pricing, etc) we will definitely do our best to come close and offer a similarly-speced out server.

It doesn't hurt to try, so please email [email protected] if you are considering moving to us!

Need a few of these in the ad ******  :)

Point is you may price match, if you determine someone is paying enough elsewhere.  So mainly a price match with ***** offer is limited and we reserve the right to not match any price

Glad to see Adam back!

Okay, what about this:

E3-1245v2,

16 GB ECC RAM

2x3 TB SATA-2 HDDs

20 TB on 1 Gbit

EUR 31,- per month without VAT. Roughly USD 35.00.

Competitor is a long time existing company (way older than your little store) and obviously sustainable.

//edit: I just read that you do not want to discuss prices in this thread. Well. Then it's not possible. Okay. Useless thread.

Well, others are offering it and have happy customers so, yes, common sense needs to be applied to your post...by you.

If YOU cannot sustain such offers then make it known as at the moment your 'offer' is misleading at best.

If you want to edit the original post to reflect the actual offer then let me know and I'll make any changes you request.
