WhoIS and domain information archive?

Is DomainTools.com the only viable source for this? Are there any other sources, free or paid? Just curious what others here use and if they can make any recommendations.

I use who.is a lot and the only "history" I know of is essentially cached records, which are updated as soon as you visit the page if they are older than a day or two.

The best free source of historical information that I have found is http://whoisrequest.org/

It's not nearly as complete as Domain Tools but it's not $50/mo either.

How 'bout that - you're right. Never noticed that before. Only seems to show two records, though, the oldest they have and the newest they have. Not all that useful.
