Your biggest pain as a provider

I see taxes being a pain just because it's taxes. Hopefully no one is charging for sales tax. We don't charge sales taxes and have a sales tax permit but use it for our hardware/software sales for our IT/MSP customers.

NY State requires that NY businesses charge sales tax on services sold to in-state residents so ChicagoVPS is one example of a provider that does charge sales tax to NY residents.

We have a WHMCS plugin that automatically cancels Paypal Subscriptions when service is terminated/cancelled. I believe I posted the code somewhere on here but I can provide you the code so you can port it over to your billing system if you're not using WHMCS.

I hate Paypal Subscriptions with a passion.

The KS team will need to port it to the other other billing panel they are using. Oh! I forgot the name of it, nevermind.

That's pretty sad. I've never seen a provider charge sales tax on Internet services which VPS hosting would be considered IMO.

Just drop the paypalsubscriptioncanceller folder in the /modules/addons directory. I just looked over the code and realized how horrible it is so I'll rewrite it as a hook instead of an addon, the original author was going in a different direction so I'm going to rewrite it and make it more simple. For now it works properly but there's more files and code than are needed.

You learn very quickly that you cannot make exceptions on pricing, it will always come back and bite you.

I blame the industry for price expectations.  You can ride a train wreck on pricing for a long time before it crashes. During that time you've just lowered the bottom of the barrel for every other host to be beat with.

We're in NY and forced to charge NY sales tax as well, wish I didn't have too but rules will be rules.

It's another reason we focus mostly on businesses. They don't mind paying hourly fees for us to do work.
