    Sync/Migrating a kvm/xen vps to Amazon/similar cloud

True, application level sync would be easier to implement. That said, and agreeing that distributed block storage replication may be the way to go in os level sync, even if slower, my question is are the vps storage formats portable, does it or anything else have any dependency in the way of...

    Sync/Migrating a kvm/xen vps to Amazon/similar cloud

Is it possible to sync a live kvm/xen vps to a cloud provider like amazon? Possible use case of bringing the cloud image to use by change of dns entries, in case of failure of main vps. Down time in such case limited to dns ttl plus dns propagation time. Possible at all? Issues involved? And as...

    Looking for VPS recommendations

Actually, few years back Xen used to be comparatively difficult to oversell, or at least I thought so. Standardized on Xen then...but can shift to KVM, only one existing vps to migrate, if this is not the case in kvm vs xen.

Looking for Xen based Linux VPS

Hi all Was on the above package for two years. Service was good, as far as unmanaged goes, so don't have any complaints. Was happy with them. However, the provider has introduced a FUP and reduced cores and increased prices.....so am in the market for a new provider. Rather than create a new...

Secondary DNS & Secondary MX Service and Rsync/PostgresBackup hosting

Hello All I am looking to add Reseller type Secondary DNS Servers & Secondary MX Servers to a small biz hosted on a vps, only using lot of domains & subdomains, even though collective data usage should be below 1TB/month, way below for the next year so so. I could grab a couple of low cost vps...

Looking for Xen based Linux VPS

Well, finally purchased from 5gbps.com for 26$/m + 2$ for extra IP and cPanel from 3rd party, as theirs was few dollars expensive. They are totally unmanaged. Specs are as follows: 8 x Intel Xeon CPU 1Gbps Unmetered (10Gbps node) 250GB Dedicated HDD 3GB Dedicated RAM Linux or Windows OS...

Looking for Xen based Linux VPS

That's true...cPanel's extra....they haven't quoted for that....but still its impressive & after this thread I'm wondering ...what's the catch? cPanel is available for 14.95$ independent from hosting provider....some quote as low as 10$, some as high as 30$....in which case one can buy 14.95...

Any interest in 525GB KVM Storage?

Would be interested in one with an unmetered (maybe capped & downgraded with a fair use policy) port. Don't want to pay for overages on backup.

Looking for Xen based Linux VPS

One would not mind disk space being oversold. Seller would get ample warning to reconfigure them (if using SAN or similar technology) but cpu processing being oversold would create contention.....not good at all.....in fact that was why I was looking at kvm.....I thought that resources are...

Looking for Xen based Linux VPS

    Would these low cost dedicated servers @35$ & 49$ be performance equivalent of 1 core of vps cpu? AMD Sempron 3000+ 1 x 160 GB PATA 1 GB DDR Unmetered 100Mbps* 1 x 1.2 GHz AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 2 x 300GB SATA 7200 RPM 2 GB DDR Unmetered 100Mbps*

Will you please expand on that ?....what resources on xen/kvm can & cannot be oversold? I am a bit curious....as that was my understanding exactly....I don't deal with virtualization in course of my daily work.
