Back to my original point. A client is sending out a DOS attack. The process doesn't seem obvious from the top command. Using only command line utilities, how do you determine who the culprit is and how do you suspend their vps?

A 404 page would be simpler still.

It's been a while and my memory may be off, but aren't they also slower to update their Debian repo than their RHEL repo? The OpenVZ project that is. Pretty sure the Debian repo doesn't have the latest kernel in it. I know repo isn't a big deal, but hey if you can save time where spending extra...

To my knowledge most providers use SolusVM and that is typically installed on top of RHEL based distros.

I like to think of proxmox for openvz as training wheels.

I think it would be excessively cautious to refer to the result of this logic as less than absolute known truth. This time it is not enough to question, it is a clear indication of something almost known but still holding a shred of reasonable doubt, until now.

I saw their site go down, I guess that guy followed through with his DDOS threat. Their host doesn't seem to mind hosting their content even with such incoming attacks, as they are still hosted at 37.221.160.39 / ixam-hosting.com. Interesting that a host using WHMCS would be so willing to host...
