How is vpsBoard performance in your location?

In terms of regular, user-noticeable performance, page loads are mostly OK, though adding posts is a PITA (see this post). Overall can't complain. But where it really gets weird is routing. I'm in New England and my ISP routes everything down the coast to NYC, then onward from there. Above.net...

    Ideas and suggestions for vpsBoard

Seems like both may have been a cookie issue. Tried the site on a different computer and it worked fine.

    Ideas and suggestions for vpsBoard

A couple of issues: first, Google search of the forums seems to have disappeared. Second, I can't stay logged in. I have to log in again every time I visit the site, even though I check "Remember me". It seemed to happen right after I changed my password to a randomly generated one with...

    Power Outage: Residential

We're right near a fire station, so when we do lose power it's usually not for too long. The worst I can remember was about four days, and in a New England winter no less! We all slept in one room at night, and with lots of blankets we got by. But that's the worst, power is usually very steady...

Is this supposed to happen? (IP.Board question)

Yeah, it's been pretty iffy with me too in that regard. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Especially when (like just now), someone else posts a reply before me and a notification pops up at the top of the screen saying "1 new reply posted". I think it may have something to do with how...

    Top Providers Poll

The thing for me is that the specs/speed of any given VPS isn't that important any more. I know multiple comanies I can go to to get a VPS with fast I/O, or one with lots of storage, or loads of BW, all that. What really matters for me are the people. Support is huge, obviously. I'm looking for...

New Backupsy Los Angeles, CA Location is UP!

IPv6 and you've got yourself a customer for sure. I see you're with OC3, OK network, lots of peers. Most importantly, they're not Colocrossing, which means they have IPv6 available. Anytime... :) Congrats on the new location, though. Any more in the works?

Best password manager? What are you using?

Without using it, Dashlane seems nice, but there is no Linux support and I've seen complaints about high memory usage. A no-go, unfortunately.

New York City/Dallas OpenVZ VPS | Tempe, AZ KVM VPS | IPv6 | 99.9% Uptime S.L.A. | Ninja Hawk Soluti

I love your services, but your ads are way too long. Consider condensing them. ...That's the worst part, since it comes after a bunch of other stuff.

Best password manager? What are you using?

I used to use KeePass, and if 2.0's Linux support actually existed beyond Wine and Mono, I would still use it. It has all the features I want, and I've actually talked over e-mail with the guy who writes it, Dominic, and he's very nice. Now I use LastPass instead, but I really don't like it...

Looking to split a dedicated server (2 VMware VPSs available).

Wha...? $25/mo, 24GB of RAM, 4 cores and 500GB disk and you can't even muster up an IP address? That seems very strange to me... It would be fine if you had IPv6, but you don't.

    Hiring: Spanish and German translators

Why are you already linking to other languages at the top of the pages, when you don't have those languages available and the links do nothing? Also, I see that besides English (obviously), German, and Spanish, you also link to Chinese and Turkish. Do you need those translated too? P.S. I...

    Down to 4 VPS

1x Crissic Solutions 512MB KVM - Too cheap to resist with KVM and /64 IPv6. I'm sure I'll find a use for it soon, I did just get it 1x Tortoise Labs 512MB XEN - Dallas - Dat control panel! 1x Anynode 512MB (free two-month trial) - Can't beat free! I'll review it when done 2x BuyVM (128MB OVZ...

    Ideas and suggestions for vpsBoard

I wasn't using search much before this. Maybe now I'll actually start. Gotta say, overall I'm very happy with how @MannDude is keeping up with these requests and actually putting effort in to fixing things. Such a great change from LET :)

I disagree. This thread is useful for when you're just wanting to post something like this.

    Too True

A nice article about this: http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/2008/02/the-years-of-experience-myth.html (More related to programming/IT fields because I'm assuming you're not actually applying for a job as a barista)
