Indiana guys I found you a deal!

Meh... 4 hours drive max. I do that twice in a day sometimes. NH -> NYC and back. Shouldn't be a big deal if you really want the thing.

    98 Cent .me domain

A lot of these promotions are new domains only. Often even new customers only, but at least existing customers can get this one. Good to know it's possible to get two.

    98 Cent .me domain

Namecheap is running some sort of "personal domain" promotion that gives you a .me domain and one free e-mail for $.98 for the year. But you can't just go to the home page, pick .me, and enter the domain you want. No, you have to go here and enter your first and last name and pick from the...

    (Namecheap) .NET/.ORG price increase

IDK what you mean by private - my domain is DStrout.net (renewed before price bump) which I use for personal (i.e. "about me") pages.

Free Domain .nu for 1 Year

In case anyone is interested, here is the text I used in my ticket to enable NS changes. The request was approved, so maybe they like what I said :) And in response I got:

As I see it, here are the pros and cons of various methods. Donations Pros: Many people are willing, has potential to provide large amount Cons: Uncertain income, feelings of entitlement   Target amount for donations Pros: Gives donators something to shoot for, many people are willing...

Request: Verified Providers link to your site(s)

No, because it's not a "badge", it's a different user group altogether, and only admins can change what group you're in.

Request: Verified Providers link to your site(s)

Are you on here to represent the provider you work for in any way? If so, you should have their details in your sig/profile. Otherwise, you're on here for personal use and should not be a "verified provider".

Request: Verified Providers link to your site(s)

Yes, exactly. As you said, most providers do have some sort of links, but a while ago I was noticing a lot of people marked as verified providers didn't.  For new ones, this is a good idea. I'd like it if it were part of the requirements to become a verified provider.

    KVM VM

ShardHost has this deal going - £25.60/year for 1GB KVM. Comes out to $39.39/year, or about $3.28 per month. If you can afford to pay yearly.

Backupsy - Netherlands Location is UP! - 250GB for $7/month

Yeah, exactly. And from the looks of it it might well be 5 locations in 3 months. LA sounds good. Also, I'm glad to hear IPv6 is in the plans. Which of your locations support it in the hardware/network? In other words, which of your locations are only waiting on you finishing up some software to...

Backupsy - Netherlands Location is UP! - 250GB for $7/month

Wow! Four locations, great work! This is getting to be a very popular service, and with good reason. How old is Backupsy, BTW? It sure seems you've grown fast. Also, any plans for IPv6 at any of your locations? I know it's KVM so I can tunnel, but if you've got native in the works that's even...

    Kansas CIty VPS Wanted

Wouldn't work because traffic is backhauled through Chicago. Physical distance is irrelevant in that case.

    vpsBoard advertisements.

Then why not both? If the community is doing well enough with adverts, you could either turn off donations or use them for fun stuff, like either paying yourselves or giving back to the community with giveaways and stuff.

Just received this on Skype from Nick @ RamNode

I get the feeling Nick won't be divulging the exact nature of the attack. If it was password reuse and he's too ashamed to admit it, that would be a pity. Either way, I have to say I'm losing some confidence in RamNode. Malicious skids shouldn't be having this much success, first against SVM and...

Just received this on Skype from Nick @ RamNode

Nick said "social engineering", not "phishing". Maybe they called Skype support and convinced them they were Nick somehow, then got access to the account and had their fun.
