FBI spreading backdoor software via 4chan kid material

That's ahhh, even, well shall I say scarier. Why would the NSA be involved in pedo luring?  I'd normally make a joke about them having problems finding willing agents or something, but the topical is disturbing as are their actions.

FBI spreading backdoor software via 4chan kid material

I like BuyVM BTW. Honest question here, since we've delved off topic,  why do blackhats, hackers, et. al. want DDoS protect services?   It's the fixed nature of IPs that are a rampant security issue in part.   I've seen similar requests on WHT and scratch my head about such.  Care to shed some...

FBI spreading backdoor software via 4chan kid material

I've heard the rumor about the operator of the site.  Doesn't change the nature of the material.   Thanks for pointing it out though.

FBI spreading backdoor software via 4chan kid material

New blog I eyeball from time to time and mentioned on here prior --- Zoned.pw... Latest blog entry about FBI passing infected backdoor executable payload to Windows users who are interested in the topic material on 4chan.org/b   (random)... Nature of material in their post = teen nude girl.    ...

Reddit thinks of SSDs as cheap RAM

Highscalability is usually a good read.  One of my favorite sites.

They don't even offer such high performance environment or custom solutions (i.e. HA clustering).

Reddit thinks of SSDs as cheap RAM

It's not funny :) This mentioned company and their parent have been pushing SSDs as RAM to potential customers for probably 2 years.  To promote mass oversell of imaginary resources. Very different model to  use SSDs in VPS model as RAM  vs. a database in a proper environment as fast storage...

Prometeus expands to Dallas, today not April 1st

Well, I do like Incero.   Is this just a trial run to see how it goes?   Not extremely fond of providers with rentals.  Seems to never work our correctly and seems to be what separates the good providers from the rest.

Reddit thinks of SSDs as cheap RAM

What in the heck is this post? The link is about Reddit and massive scaling of dedicated colocated servers.  Namely Amazon's EC2/S3 solutions. Zero mention of the fools at CVPS.   Zero relationship. Point of this post is?

We have constructed additional Pylons (BuyVM Upgrades)

Holy freaking update bomb! "We will not be performing any upgrades to our Buffalo location until after we've moved to a new datacentre (more details on that to be announced at a later date)." Oh yeah, call that official.

    ColoCrossing and vpsBoard

Is this your new compulsion?   Seems like you must have things your way -- a 2 dimensional pissing fit of A vs. B.  Point is, if you believe everyone is in the pro or anti camp think again.  Vast majority of people couldn't give a bucket load of manure either way. Is this the litmus test?  ...

    Slow upload speed

Typically, I place a file on such a server, behind say Nginx or your favorite web server.  A true random data "speedtest" file.  A 1GB file usually is big enough unless we are testing a very fast upstream. Testing occurs with wget mainly.  If single threaded wget doesn't seem speedy enough.  ...

    Small HTTP proxy (+ SOCKS)

I am certainly headed back to Squid too. Polipo has been better behaved, but still has mass issues. Latest fun thing, the cache filled up the drive. Polipo doesn't maintain a cache inventory/index.   So if I keep running it have to cron schedule: polipo -x That purges the cache, however...

Cheap 1GB KVM for learning Linux

Best EDIS location for privacy laws?

The nature of email is just plain problematic --- all the plaintext sending of messages. I've hoped for years that we'd do away with email unless entirely encrypted. Better yet, email over something like XMPP.  Unsure why development processes keep getting wasted on another email client, web...
