    VPS with standalone firewall?

^--- that's going to be rare to find.  No one wants to eat attacks and deal with them, especially for low end money. Question is why are people parked with a fixed target.  Skids should be more mobile.

    VPS with standalone firewall?

There are small distros for router / firewall functionality.  Should fit in very small VPS footprint. That will require 2 VPSes on same server/network though.  Additional cost obviously.

OVH stops taking orders, everything is "sold out"..

The OVH customer support debugging is to determine really what the customer subscribed to.  Support guarantees on the cheap/non business stuff is long.

What all festivals do you celebrate?

@bizzard,  going to celebrate you teasing me with yummy Indian food. Finally have an Indian restaurant not so incredibly far from me.  Time for a lunch buffet in your honor. I don't do the holidays or other ritualistic celebrations.  I would like to see more festivals be they art, dance, etc...

Where does BuyVMs DDoS Protection come from now?

I'm surprised about the Choopa limitations.  Out of my scope of focus though.     Found their network to perform quite well as a user and good peering.

    Storage VPS

Good second attempt @Sonwebhost,  third one will be a charm :) As per OP, "Max budget is $7".

    ColoCrossing and vpsBoard

You do realize topics routinely start as a subject in mind and later other companies often get injected.     I just did both in one post.  Would it have been less impactful to you if I mentioned the multitude of other LowEnd hive companies engaging in the same conduct instead of that company...

Kimsufi is fast to a VPS, glacial to home. Why?

Unsure what causes this limit on single thread transfers in said network.   It's rather common problem with major cable companies in States.  Someone must have sold the major cable co's the same QoS solution. It gets into hacking configs and non standard stuff, but multithreaded multi file xfer...

Kimsufi is fast to a VPS, glacial to home. Why?

Problem, they QoS everything.   Even VPN/SSH/Proxy is impacted to ugly negative effects.   The approach is fine so long as you are moving remote data between remote datacenter sites.   If you need to download that data to local, there is no fixing their stupid ugly network and QoS stomping.

Come on @Sonwebhost, again the OP has specs and you miss the target. 200GB of space minimum bubba.

Continuum Data Centers Announces New Tier III Facility

I say good!  Chicagoland needs more options. Continuum gets a bad rap.  Some of it is deserved from time to time.  Overall though, I don't think recently they've been as bad as in the past.   I've found their network to be nicely peered with some of my upstreams and no slowdowns that are...

    Ordering turnoffs?

I forgot my favorite, lousy payment options a/k/a we do not acceptable PayPal. Often these companies in fact to somehow accept PayPal through some third party processor that is quite annoying and long winded to actually complete the transaction.

    ColoCrossing and vpsBoard

There's this nice feature in IPB. Up there on top right where your user name is, mouse over and find: Manage Ignore Prefs First thing I did, was check this: "Ignore all signatures when reading topics and personal messages" That gets rid of signature ad stuff that makes posts look and read...

FBI lures Tor Users with Malware

It's freaking Santa Claus list approach of naughty or nice.  Just it applies for eternity. One has to wonder where else they might be collecting same data from and where else / what else it is being stored and used for.   I won't mention this big tech company wifi scanning or anything...

FBI lures Tor Users with Malware

More reasoning --- for me --- to continue running with javascript disabled.   It's a non stop problem/security issue.
