Thanks @wlanboy. Textbook examples wrong routing.
I don't muck at the network routing level, but seems be something afoul in Buffalo. These routes weren't busted like this until Cogent and XO got thrown in the mix and Level 3 was basically removed.
Sad, because Buffalo is actually pretty...
I recommend Catalyst Host in Dallas.
Unsure if they have current small plan offers (know they did an annual):

Been a while:

Just sprung for a $160+ chair like I described from local office chain. It is subpar in my opinion. Better than a nearly identical chair to yours that was being used, but the chair lacks any head rest. (chair wasn't for me and person was on a budget and needed it now). If you read lots, then...
HostNIC? Unfamiliar with them. Anyone have a link?
Count me as surprised about this merger. I thought the owner of SilverKnight was a Vegas resident and committed to the region there. Florida is a far away place.
The US suffers from very bad routes and high latency from coast to coast. The experiment of many companies operating backbones and subsequent consolidation and still competition hasn't yielded a superior network. Yes there are exceptions, yes some routes are superior.
To illustrate, not...
I don't think we'll see an SeFlow ad anytime soon. A month delay for rules, ahh won't probably matter to them.
I agree with the situation and issues @rm_. Pulling and reposting based on stock is problematic. Delays in queue, yep, legendary.
Heck I delivered newspapers when I was 12 until 16. Big old route and expanded to deliver the other competing paper too :)
Spent evenings cleaning buildings and in the summers worked for my uncle cutting lawns in addition to everything else.
Kids today :)
All good @dcdan. If one person sees/thinks something 10 others probably are noticing/thinking the same.
Glad to see a positive and clean slate with your companies.
Last check from thread on here, BuyVM is going to have filtering in New York City proper.
The catch is nothing there to get your traffic off to some other location (BuyVM is only doing filtering there, no VPS nodes).
So, traffic goes back to Buffalo and from there you can do GRE tunnel or...
You do realize BuyVM is opening up DDoS protect / filtering in New York City? It is an East Coast option, but the down side is going back to Buffalo to serve things. Suspect the upstream is an issue based on the fallout from prior site and some of our mutual feelings.
Would be ideal if you...
No reason to fight over LE user base. The nature of vpsBoard isn't pigeonholed into the loss leader < $7 offers.
I know @MannDude has talked about paying for some sponsored content also. How-to's and Tutorials are the priority. So that's another place the investments will be going back into...
All good @rm_ :)
I am not privy to when the offer was submitted and how long it lingered. I am certain though that many offers have lingered in queue and still do for far more than a week. If the posting delay was a mere week, no provider would be complaining (many do but in private circles)...
Congrats @MannDude for the pre-sales.
Thanks to the providers who stepped up.
@D. Strout, lets see...
1. VPSes. Unsure what the costs are (not my business) - but as-is the costs are certainly above $50 a month.
Running the site on VPSes and current architecture leaves something to be...
Timmy! Is that you? :)
Is this mega fatso sized plan something new from you or have you been offering this for a bit - at this promo price?
Welcome to the VPS resource wars either way.
Look at my horse, my horse is amazing
Give it a lick, mmm it tastes just like raisins
tugs on his winkie :)
Oh so awful, but strangely funny...
"Shut up woman, get on my horse"
I think they just don't like money. Must be too much F/OSS punch ;)
Then again, I head scratch on how you manage price points you do with the performance.
Maybe we are all moderately off kilter.
I can't grasp why the admins over at Lowendbox are so inconsistent about the offers.
This issue of posting offers without supply is a gas. This is why offers shouldn't sit idly in a queue for eons. Providers can't reserve stock for a site promo that might not happen for months.
There...
