    Incero Review - AVOID

Face it, there aren't many small or low end providers outlaying cash like that for dedicated bandwidth.   Especially where they are into a facility 1-3 servers.   It's very rare. The problem with what gets sold vs. what it actually is (bandwidth), is well, legendary distortion with some...

    Incero Review - AVOID

Wow, those are pretty, normal words... Half of us use worse when communicating in friendly terms :) I recommend using buffaloshit instead.  Some sort of cow discrimination racket.

    Incero Review - AVOID

I think I am going to get some popcorn for this thread :) I can't believe you were shitcanned @shovenose... Did he say for using the shit word or something else?   I have wussy babies in support who cancel for profanity.  It comes with the job ladies.  Things aren't happy, in comes a...

ChicagoVPS / CVPS Hacked. New SolusVM exploit? (Content Restored) [PT. 1/2]

Well, I've long be curious as to number of nodes RamNode operates. :)  I don't think they are as small as folks think. Seem to have quite a few customers.  Ahh where's the SolusVM database :) ? What RamNode really had was a better management policy and contingency planning.  Nick isn't a sales...

    Incero Review - AVOID

Ouch. Gordon (Incero) is a good guy, but he doesn't put up with much nonsense.  Great guy actually, but more than a few people have met his other side.  Shame that this ended this way.  It is a good location and his gear is pretty beefy. Definitely have some performance issues going on with...

    High Availability

No doubt, keeping the files sync'd requires thoughts and strategy. If we have 6 nodes that run everything front to back (Nginx, MySQL, file replication, MySQL replication) then each location is autonomous. The price for creating this "efficient" pack of services is the sync'ing no doubt...

    AnyNode, Exclusive Trial?

The drama was over the unsolicited PMs. I don't think folks would have handled it differently if it was a known host.   Possibly would have ended up discussing with moderators first and delaying the post. I like free offers like the next person, but I don't want to encourage advertising in...

    High Availability

Yeah a MySQL replication piece on here wouldn't be bad :)  It's a feature, but way too few folks use it and syncing multiples like 6 severs, well, can MySQL reliably do that :) ? File syncing is a cinch per se.  That's a straight rsync with cron event.

    High Availability

DNS is the cheapest, easiest, lightest, and top layer really to deal with pointing users to alive servers as they move/fail. Clustering isn't something normally able to be done on a low RAM style box. DNS level failover should suffice for most folks.  Once you get big enough to outgrow that...

ChicagoVPS / CVPS Hacked. New SolusVM exploit? (Content Restored) [PT. 1/2]

One more thing to note, Pingdom DOES NOT have all nodes under monitoring. Dallas isn't in there and those 5 VPSes are offline. New Jersey is also absent from monitoring and status of there is unknown.

Dallas = 1 server:  149 | dfw1    |        5 |         5.75 | That is node 149. 5 VPS accounts with 5.75GB sold RAM. It is the second lowest RAM allocation and is a well undersold node.

He was never "banned".  Chris said on here that he asked LET to ban him as the site was consuming too much of his time.  A self ban.
