ChicagoVPS / CVPS Hacked. New SolusVM exploit? (Content Restored) [PT. 1/2]

Well, Adam answered at least on ticket as himself back in December :)     https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?id=204958342858533&story_fbid=508822079138823 Fact is, that was one of the pieces of info that implicated Adam as being Kevin way back then :)

ChicagoVPS / CVPS Hacked. New SolusVM exploit? (Content Restored) [PT. 1/2]

CVPS has a long and soiled history about moving people around after you are a customer.  It happens most often when you complain about performance of the server you are on and this move you to one with better neighbors.  There are other reasons to have been moved - like a prior server failure...

ChicagoVPS / CVPS Hacked. New SolusVM exploit? (Content Restored) [PT. 1/2]

Another gotcha for folks still down: If you are on a node that had extended downtime (5 hours+) in the past 3 days, you are on a node they most likely had to rebuild. If you look at Pingdom, you can find the nodes in there with RED X's.   Those machines might be online, but the VPSes on them...

ChicagoVPS / CVPS Hacked. New SolusVM exploit? (Content Restored) [PT. 1/2]

Someone that is a provider / familiar with Solus answer this: In nodes table, there is ftpbackup value, a 0 or 1.   Assuming 0 means ftpbackups are not enabled and a 1 means ftpbackups for the node are enabled. Does that include client containers in that form of backup? I see 26 nodes where...

ChicagoVPS / CVPS Hacked. New SolusVM exploit? (Content Restored) [PT. 1/2]

ATL-VPS2 was one of the nodes that particularly hard hit and they didn't have any backups in Atlanta. Technically the server there has been rebuilt and is up.  But the VPS containers for customers is GONE.

ChicagoVPS / CVPS Hacked. New SolusVM exploit? (Content Restored) [PT. 1/2]

For those of you that are customers: If you send me a private message I can look your account up and determine which server you are on.  That will help going forward to know what the issue is and independently do some self determination on resolution and patience. Customers, if they knew the...

    Rage4 price

Domains are free... They don't charge for adding domains (I think). Queries are free up to 250k per domain. (i.e. you can add x domains and each have 50k queries and your monthly bill would be $0). Queries after that are billed at 1 million intervals. The amount for each 1 million queries is...

Summer... Host. Tee hee... Summer time and a host that has been around for years that acts like a summer host :) Mighty Big Fall I remember a thread where CVPS_Chris jumped on @Prometeus and talked all sorts of smackola.  That thread and some other mouthing about being the biggest VPS...

Thanks for some insight @XFS_Duke.  Didn't realize they were splurging for outside help.  Uggh!  That's, umm, well, bad. The updates are mandatory for customer sake.  Again, there is a reason why a 2GB VPS isn't $2-$7 a month, unless something is wrong (i.e. little to no staff behind the...

Good thing to point the providers to :)  10 posts isn't much. Points would be interesting idea.  Unsure if IPB supports/addons for such.

ChicagoVPS / CVPS Hacked. New SolusVM exploit? (Content Restored) [PT. 1/2]

No doubt, CVPS has been dropping their prices like crazy since the tail end of 2012. November 25, 2012, they first issued a limited offer: Enterprise $30/year 2048MB Dedicated Ram 50GB Diskspace 2TB Bandwidth $2.50 a month on that. Pricing had been pretty much $7-7.95 a month...

Now now, pitchforks and fire :) 12 invites?  Ahh that's targeted.  Spam, well, I don't mind the free ice cream and burger coupons that show up in my physical mail randomly. Unsure about board policies and if everyone read their member legal nonsense :) I'd rather see them buy an ad than...

    AnyNode, Exclusive Trial?

Well, someone can confirm as an admin perhaps how many of these promos were sent out. See if exclusive or scope of parties who received it. I hate spam, however, it is a free giveaway and is on topic to interest (VPS).  So, I don't mind too much. Would have rather seen an offer post asking...

    Whats going on with UGVPS?

Today's gossip rag headline: "Is UGVPS another Colocrossing / ChicagoVPS brand or did Crystal die?" UGVPS, that darling of a company with crazy low priced offers and a "female" at the helm has suddenly gone AWOL, missing in action. Buyers over at LowEndBox are reporting all sorts of non...

With the development of new alternative panels soon to hit the market...

The dual logins stink for customers too.  I never can keep things straight.  Always digging in my paper records or if at my main machine, the notepad thing I use to keep track of things.
