    Ideas and suggestions for vpsBoard

Can we just ban all offers on Colocrossings network?  Gets rid of the IPV6 issue everyone whines about, it gets rid of most vestiges of the low end and it keeps one front company from using this place to shill.

    Gorack $25.50 1U Special

Gorack's network in the past year had issues especially getting to Time Warner's own network.  All while having TW as an upstream. Unsure if they've resolved the issue, which was greatly variable latency with quite high latency at peak times.

Is there a GUI tool to copy data between servers?

Curious what you need this for :)  Just to spot check and one off manually transfer files? Typically I just run good old rsync and let it do the magic, all commandline. So if you need the spot check manual thing, SCP is what to use... Encrypted, data not flying out in the open. To make it...

    Importance of A+B Power?

I agree with the later posts here.  @Prometeus @jarland. Would be interesting to see some pricing from different facilities on B leg power per month. While I don't think everything needs B leg power, some stuff sort of does (routers and big SAN storage). Some of these hosts, even on the low...

^  Possible and nothing surprises me, especially in the low end :)

    ChicagoVPS | 2 NEW LOCATIONS! | Dallas, New Jersey | $4 1GB VPS

Not the IPV6 :)  It's a very long running joke about them and IPV6.  Unsure what the hold up is, but it's legendary comedy. With all the IPV4 addresses they have been amassing and the shortages, probably nearing a cashout/profitability on the IPV4 addresses shortly.

Is neonpanel one of your projects @BlueVM?   Are there screencaps of the panel somewhere?

What is your favorite LAMP or LEMP script for VPS?

Interesting poll. I don't use any of these. This post made me check out a few of them to see what was included. Will probably give the promising ones a spin that fit my needs. Mainly I stick to a text file I run through for my configs. Manual setup.

What would you pay for this?

$1k for the server.... At 8 month pay off = $130 a month towards the server. $130 + $50 for the space = $180 + the filtering + markup. The filtering is from who and is it a 15Gbps shared pool or what? Where is the filtering located? Provider?

    Importance of A+B Power?

That's a funny one. I had to go back and see where you got that from. I don't have a clue how that got in here. Only time that name has been anywhere around me was yesterday when you posted that Facebook photo and I reversed that to determine who the person was and posted here...

What would you pay for this?

$50 per U a month basically, with $30 per U setup. $2k rack roughly at that quote price. 100Mb/s port is a great limitation, need that upgraded for provider sake. So what's a reasonable price to outright build/buy: E3-1230v2 1tb hdd 128gb ssd /29 16gb ram ----- 15Gb/s DDoS...

    Looking to Colo

Large scale is typically what the bills are at facilities when you need stacks of drives and tons of RAM. Something I neglected to point out when dealing with colo is to have a local/regional person who is competent and can do admin work on site as needed. Facility hands can be limited or...

    Getting a new laptop today

HP should be broke. Many of their business areas have evaporated in the past decade. Q4 2012, HP brought in $30 billion and still posted a big fat loss. Hardly dead or broke though. Almost $120 billion went through HP in sales in 2012. http://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/hpq/financials

Double Expansion: ChicagoVPS Expands VPS Hosting Services to TWO New Areas

I am certain I am not Cody. But, you know what, I'll contact Cody and see if he wants to come on over here and set you straight. Funny that everyone with a big enough mouth online railing against CC and CVPS is accused of being Cody. How do two different and unrelated companies come to the...

    Too funny

I remember when Kennedy wasn't too bad on the eyes. Time, oh time. I wonder if DC has a maximum height / number of stories for new builds. Actually, I know they have a limit: "Unlike other large cities in the U.S., Washington's downtown has a low skyline. With the advent of the skyscraper and...

    Getting a new laptop today

Crashing is no joke and issue to be concerned with. Question is what is crashing them. Speakers on portables, well, just suck. No way to have true sound in a case with so little space at this point. Bluetooth or even the plain old headphone out should work great. Mousepad and...

    Importance of A+B Power?

Well, your data centers are the exception by far. Power is a fairly common issue. The UPS systems need serviced/replaced, the gen sets need cycled and tested, new capacity needs installed. Those are the more legitimate reasons to have power downtime. The $700 a month divided by customers...

Looking for VPS offer with WHMCS

Hostigation. Great provider and has this licensing down well. Lots of folks go there for the license and Tim runs a great operation.
