GreenValueHost forced password reset - Security breach?

Well I gotta say props to GVH for sharing screenshots of whmcs log and access logs. That's so much more than I'd expect of some others. Maybe this issue is more complex than it looks. No excuses for some security failures but if I asked everyone who has made a mistake or oversight to raise their...

GreenValueHost forced password reset - Security breach?

It's really incredible what you can do with a little apache and some .htaccess. If you're willing, you can effectively mod_rewrite yourself out of most common uses for mod_sec, and I wish more people understood apache doesn't execute a php cron in your crontab, it doesn't need to be accessible...

GreenValueHost forced password reset - Security breach?

Meh, you know PCI compliance and most vulnerability scans are useless and serve mostly to milk money from those who don't know any better. In this market it's both easier and more beneficial to just not be stupid and read documentation...which so many people just can't seem to be bothered to do.

Odd no POST in there, unless it's elsewhere.

GreenValueHost forced password reset - Security breach?

How does one not log all web server activity, or if one does, how does one not instantly know what happens?

GreenValueHost forced password reset - Security breach?

Dear lord... https://copy.com/ulZUpFl1nzxpM3U3 That's only about half of them too. If their host had a certain mascot in Florida I'd tell them what happened in 3 minutes ;)

    Yum update on 1and1 VPS

"the vps has parallels plesk" Followed by suggestions that updating is safe. I sense fun times ahead. Good luck with plesk. If you look at it wrong it breaks, and when it breaks it breaks bad.

Please help me: VestaCP - Cannot get outgoing mail to work with an external client

Definitely a lot to be said for the reliability of cPanel. Memory is cheap, and this makes it fly: https://github.com/Prajithp/ApacheBooster

Please help me: VestaCP - Cannot get outgoing mail to work with an external client

It does for most of us, but some users have a problem with the default ACL in place. In your case it's mostly that your ISP was listed in the RBL that was set by default.

Please help me: VestaCP - Cannot get outgoing mail to work with an external client

Well, it should solve one problem at least. Make sure you're on centos, I think the configuration has some small differences in the Debian packages.

Please help me: VestaCP - Cannot get outgoing mail to work with an external client

Yeah that's the one. Sorry I forgot to warn you of that. Any IP on the system works as long as you haven't forced exim to bind to a single address.

Please help me: VestaCP - Cannot get outgoing mail to work with an external client

If you dropped in the exim.conf it has the IP set that mail is sent out from, currently set to the IP active for outgoing mail on mxroute.

Yep. It's definitely zpanel no question about it. Whether it's specific to their code or software versions they install I don't know but I have only seen this with zpanel installed.

    RamNode entering NYC.

Wait, wait. I don't meet enough people that watch Archer. So...I love you. Phrasing? Seriously, ramnode is awesome. The only flaw that I find in the work that Nick does is that a client is at risk of forgetting he exists, because quite frankly you have a harder time remembering things that...

Please help me: VestaCP - Cannot get outgoing mail to work with an external client

Sorry, just logged in for today. Spamhaus doesn't like dynamic IP addresses and they like to list dynamic ranges. Go ahead and just cut them out of /etc/exim/dnsbl.conf (at least on centos, may vary on Debian based OS) and restart exim. I actually just have that file empty for mxroute now, I'd...

VPSDime - Free Offloaded MySQL Service in Dallas

Well I can say my two containers have never felt as though they were running on an overloaded system. As for the calculations, I'd bet you anything the numbers are off but truthfully I don't know, and I can't get Ryan drunk enough to tell me, he stores it like a camel. But if I know Oktay, he...

    Incero spamming?

Is responding to a support ticket? Look at the original message again, right before the picture of the kid. Looks like a presales ticket. I'm guessing they open tickets for presales inquiries or for some live chats? Seems it was more than just a chat to me.
