    OpenVZ Command Blocking

Well, that's not someone I would willingly give resources to.  But preferences on acquaintances aside, you're still looking at a jailed shell rather than a full-on VPS.  General rule of thumb - if they have root, you can't really restrict what they do.

    OpenVZ Command Blocking

What you want is a jailed shell, not a VPS. You may wish to re-evaluate your definition of friend if you don't trust them.

For those of you using GMail, how often do you backup your mailbox?

Heh, you see replies like this quite often when it comes to larger players like Google.  It's very easy to look at all of the nifty stuff they produce that works well and just assume "Ah, it's Google, they know what they're doing", and just as easy to forget that 'Google' is just a name.  The...

Task tracking for the VERY busy folks out there - recommendations?

We started using Bitrix recently (cloud-hosted is free for under 12 users per 'company'), and have been pretty damn satisfied with it.  Good for organization, task tracking/assignment, scheduling, you name it.

All of North Korea's internet is out.

The catch with life expectancy isn't that everyone could be expected to die off by 40 - but rather there were so many young-age deaths to greatly offset the number of people that lived to a ripe old age.  Remember, you're just looking at the mean result of age-at-deaths, not an accurate "you...

Out of curiosity, why would the company you're representing want to hide the fact that they're hiring?

    The cesspit / chat thread.

Gotta love when you make someone butthurt, and they spend the rest of the evening trying to DDoS an insignificant irssi client :P  Really, it's no surprise some kids end up in the situations they find themselves in.

Colocrossing Buffalo now offering 100Gbps DDoS Protection

That's hilarious.  I suppose they think that all the time they spent trying to DDoS competitors (sorry Biloh, next time hire skids that won't sell you out) makes them experts on prevention and mitigation now as well.

    Server List

I wrote up a LibreCalc spreadsheet for this some years back, but have no idea where it is now.  Did a little searching, but no luck on that front.

Colocrossing Buffalo now offering 100Gbps DDoS Protection

Sounds like they're just following everyone onto the bandwagon trying to resell Vox.  Given the punishing incompetence from that group, should make for some interesting fireworks.
