    $1.79/Year VPS - 32MB - 1.5GB HDD

So.... wait... No IPv4?  Or is the IPv4 that's natted and each person gets their individual IPv6 via HE Tunnel?

    Ban Request *Thoughts*

This changes nothing in my opinion.  Simply the fact that (in case of the LEB contest) the "business owner" has the cost of the server removed for the first six months.  This should mean more capital is available to allocate to other needs, such as lets say the business registration fund?   If...

    Ban Request *Thoughts*

To be perfectly honest, I'd feel a bit iffy if someone's starting a "company" with only 200 dollars.   Business filing/registering in itself costs about 100 dollars (as a foreign LLC and depending on states).  If we include other forms and registration costs for everything then I'll end up...

OpenVZ VPS - OpenVPN. Need help? Will provide SSH access

it's probably the iptable rules.  What you've described is an issue with your iptable rules not being set correctly.   I'm assuming it's OpenVZ.  The script probably set the OpenVZ iptable rules for you but didn't have them come back when restarted (this is an assumption, I haven't looked into...

GreenValueHost - Lies, Lies & Lies - Indians, Aliases, Kids, Excuses and Cheats

Well this is a "nice" surprise.  I've locked this thread because it serves no purpose and is based off of no actual factual data (as far as I can tell).   Also come on, this is like beating a dead horse.

Did anybody else grab a Raspberry Pi from FitVPS during yesterday's special?

I don't think anyone does free Raspberry Pi colos anymore. I mean I know people who do it if you pay them but not for free. EDIS used to be the one that did it for free but later stopped offering it.

Did anybody else grab a Raspberry Pi from FitVPS during yesterday's special?

Link? I didn't, but I haven't seen any good applications of a Raspberry Pi that you can't do on a VM (I Guess except for the fact that it'll be a dedicated machine)

    ChicagoVPS - Christmas 2Gb Special

Well I'm not exactly sure how your system is setup but I think it'd require a different weighting values for each "score" that is dependent on a comparison of networks.   Maybe normalize all the entries so far and then make the score based off of that? (I really don't know what your "algorithm"...

    What else does everyone do?

Haha.  I work as a researcher (Graduate Student level though) in hydrologic forecasting (in addition to a few other research topics). Part of my work involves working with linux systems and running simulation models.  I work for Catalyst whenever there's breaks in between, but yeah.  I...

    ChicagoVPS - Christmas 2Gb Special

Any review about the support response time?  Any other detail about uptime?   Could you please clarify what do you mean by an error rate of 0.93% (0.93% of a week where the server is unreachable?)? Do you have the link to the Petabyet benchmark?   That network is pretty unfortunate.  I mean...

GreenValueHost becoming ColoCrossing, dumping providers, etc.

My only comment in this thread without reading it all...     LOL.  Isn't this what Chris Fabio used to say when he started bringing in those high RAM low cost VMs? #WINNING

    Bring on the 6TBs!

See I utilize my desktop computer as my storage/file computer.  I mean the essential things are backed up to multiple locations and backup VMs, but overall this is my go-to computer for everything (62 GB SSD, 2x 1TB HDD).  Unless I setup something like Samba or whatnot, I feel like moving them...

    Bring on the 6TBs!

lol.  What @Aldryic C'boas is saying is that he prefers to use raid rather than having a large hard drive for the exact reason stated in here.   Exactly the same thing as what you're saying.  There's no difference.  haha.
