Crissic has been acquired by Quadranet

It's doable, but those services are most likely (highly) oversold in the RAM and HDD arenas.

    Has anyone used BoltVM?

And why is he no longer WHT liaison? I know it's old news but never figured out why.

    Combozo.com Offer 8GB RAM - 1Gbit/S - Phoenix AZ starting @ $28/Year

I try to follow up on companies, and I keep mental notes. I am no hero, but I do appreciate the insinuation. The real heroes would be the likes of drmike and domainbop. Thank you for the update. That was not made clear by the customer. Are you offering me a refund? I'm not a customer, but you...

    Has anyone used BoltVM?

I'm not @drmike, but I believe I can help. This was his excuse in the LET thread (correct me if I am wrong and you saw it elsewhere). Quoting Mr Finkiel: More info: http://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/54414/boltvm-ip-changes

Site5 and Verio accquired by EIG

Mann, with all du(d)e respect, I think this is a sweeping generalization. Hating EIG might be in style, but I hate bureaucracy, and that comes with being the head of a huge company. And aren't they losing money (looked at a report from last quarter)? Wouldn't want to take heat from their...

    Centarra.com Closing as of September 1, 2015

Good riddance Centarra. Chris could be in jail for his IP hijacking anyway.

    Combozo.com Offer 8GB RAM - 1Gbit/S - Phoenix AZ starting @ $28/Year

Well, in my experience, the vast majority of reviews are merited. Furthermore, there was the original bad review, then two more different people decided to add their negative thoughts about your company to the thread.

Backups Marketed but not Upheld, who's the fault for the lack of backup? Provider vs Customer

Many companies will advertise it, but their TOS mentions that the backups are not guaranteed to work. They're often "best effort". Whether that's fair or not... well, it's the status quo, and you can certainly try to change it. You just better have the backups.

Which kind of support is most helpful?

Not sure if being ironic was your intention, but support responses that say "Kindly check now" are some of the least useful. I find support that educates the customer a little bit about the problem and provides snippets on how it was resolved is best. i.e. this was the problem, and this is what...

    Future of Shared Web Hosting?

Remind me never to buy shared hosting from someone who has that philosophy. I guess the level of support and hand holding provided to shared hosting customers doesn't matter either, then. Neither does stopping spam or abuse, or proactive monitoring.  With all due respect, that's not the right...

Getting new clients ~ How did you do it?

A little SEO doesn't hurt either. But know which keywords you want, and rank for those.

Getting new clients ~ How did you do it?

A combination of: Helpfulness (i.e. not sig spamming) Marketing basics (i.e. not providing everything under the sun at a "Green Value") Good server management and support (e.g. don't piss off your clients by making them submit tickets all the time because you don't know how to monitor your...

Blocking Fraud Orders - Best Solution

We'll submit to it if the offense is egregious. If it's just a single spam complaint for a customer who's been in good standing for a month or two, it's a different story.
