FYI: Planned vpsBoard maintenance will be occuring later this evening.

'Tis banging! Good work, I really like how this came out! Hoping that things will smooth out a bit more after tweaks, but it looks great!

    OpenVZ

Can't we just agree that they both have their places in the marketplace and each has its advantages and disadvantages? What may be an advantage for one may be a disadvantage for another. I personally find it reductive to try to find an overall winner in a battle similar to what's linked on LET.

Nice design. Custom or is it themeforest?

    ... / DDoS protected Canadian VPS from $11.11 / OVZ / Unmetered bandwidth / IPv6 / 1 to 9 cores

Re-read. I wasn't suggesting that you were the one discriminating. Note that I was speaking to drmike, not you, about discrimination and right to refuse service.

    ... / DDoS protected Canadian VPS from $11.11 / OVZ / Unmetered bandwidth / IPv6 / 1 to 9 cores

Good call. It was just an assumption on my end; surely Canada has anti-discrimination laws.

    ... / DDoS protected Canadian VPS from $11.11 / OVZ / Unmetered bandwidth / IPv6 / 1 to 9 cores

I support providers refusing to sell to clients but not for any reason. No one should refuse service to customers based on race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, or other protected facets of identity. While the right to refuse service is nice, it ends at the point of discrimination.  In...

    WHMCS 6.01 is released

5.3 should get extended support (LTS) and should not be EOL for another year... at least that's what a responsible software vendor would do. In other news, WHMCS will be providing patches only to 6.x.x

    Live chat software

I just want to say that tawk.to is the best live chat software I've used. After paying about $70/mo for LiveChatInc, I was really quite sick of it as it lagged and its visitor information and tracking wasn't that great.  Tawk has a nice iPhone app, and I would pay for it (not sure why they're...

What is your favourite RAID level?

I like RAID 10. Performance boost via striping and redundancy via mirroring. It's the best of both worlds. And... I never knew RAID levels had nicknames like that?

Ah, I remember SliceHost. Didn't they get bought by Linode?

Starting a VPS business with $10,000. How would you spend it?

While the truth is that there are matters more important than the cost differences between leased, rented, and owned (especially in the beginning stages of a business), we should not diminish the significance of such costs. Hardware costs continue to be significant for hosting firms of all...

Should I invest in my current company or acquire bigger company?

Technical support should be a top concern. Bad support or slow issue resolution is the #1 reason that people will move to other companies. Hiring others might be a good idea, as might outsourcing your support (do your research if this is the path you want to take) if you want to spend more time...

Should I invest in my current company or acquire bigger company?

They were pretty standard, to be honest. Expanding too quickly, choosing the wrong datacenters, and going with the wrong support personnel. I'll do a full, 500-1000 word write-up of everything I've learned on my personal blog though.

Who was your first VPS provider?

Does anyone remember shells, like IRCD shells? For me the first thing I bought was an IRCD shell so I could run an IRC network. In terms of VPS, the first one for me was SliceHost. I think I might have bought a VPS or two from BlueVM (not sure though... they were horrible, but they had Blue in...
