Anyone have experience with Cherokee web server ?

Cherokee is interesting. It does have a web GUI. However, it's not really often used, and a lot of users would prefer nginx for its heavy flexibility.

How do you secure your server(s)?

Disable password authentication and use iptables to limit connections. I don't change SSH ports as that's just security by obscurity, and those ports are likely to get scanned anyway.

    ARIN Phase III has started

The cause that resulted in an initial loss of a .12 was due to AT&T hoarding a /12. The 0.02 loss was caused by ColoCrossing getting a /15.

    Funky CC Routing

I can confirm that at least Cogent and Telia are accepted inbound. My ISP gives some Telia routes, but mostly Cogent routes. CC's routing is overall wonky anyway. I'm sure most of the locations are mostly over nLayer with DC blends as backup, then we have freak-outs like Buffalo without nLayer...

    ARIN Phase III has started

Gotta love stalking arin-issued. I think they're going to keep hoarding as much v4 as possible until the farewell /22 policy kicks in. Then maybe a few years after that happens they may deploy v6. At least Comcast is enabling dual-stack for their residential customers now, and Charter has made...

    ARIN Phase III has started

Looks like AT&T got another /12 allocation. They're really hoarding IPs now - I believe this was the 3rd allocation this year.

Ideas -- How to "route" DNS traffic through multiple daemons

Dirty way, works if DNSCrypt can listen on port 53 and bind to a different interface (also needed for DNSMasq): Run ifconfig lo:0 127.0.0.2 to get a new loopback interface, and then make DNSMasq listen on port 53 on 127.0.0.1 (routing requests to 127.0.0.2), and DNSCrypt listen on port 53 on...
