Curious - what chassis, etc, are these in?

    Earplugs... yep needed

Up here in Seattle we have cheap power (4.75c/kWh) and no need for heat or AC the majority of the year. I think my power bill for the last couple months was < $40?

MR: Your interest in an Atom-powered dedicated server in Los Angeles?

I would definitely want as much storage as possible (backups / storing BIG DATA, etc), 1 x 3TB drive would be perfect (as would allowing people to buy additional in full). I'd also want more bandwidth - would 5TB on GBit be possible? I'd even pay another ~$5 to go from 1TB -> 5TB

MR: Your interest in an Atom-powered dedicated server in Los Angeles?

I'd definitely be in for one with the 3TB drive, I'd prefer more than 1TB on GBit (maybe 3-5?) but if that's not possible, shared would work too.  When I say definitely, I mean point me @ the order form and I'll buy one right now.

How much would you pay for these?

It was part of some insane giveaway deal they did, I don't have the second drive, and I only have one usable IP, but it's pretty nice!

How much would you pay for these?

I might just be lucky, but I have an: i3-2100 w/ 4GB of RAM and 500GB HDD on unmetered 100mbit for $10/m in HE FMT through Swiftway. I'm sure the quality of bw is probably about the same (lol HE), but I also have native v6 and it's in a real datacenter with real IPMI. This might be a tough sell.

Dealing with the Buffalo DDoS Mafia

I actually rent a server from ChicagoVPS located in Buffalo, service is nice, they just ditched Cogent and got L3, it's nice. Here's why this post is dumb: You're blaming them for something you have absolutely no proof of. At all. You can't go around making baseless accusations and expect to...

dual core ivy bridge from $30/month, and more

Had an Atom with rds, it was awesome, I wish the project I was using it for was still running because it was great. I might go for one of these :).

I'm being STOLEN FROM! (not really - what is reasonable kvm steal %)

I had a high CPU (load avg 5-6) process running on a FlipHost KVM for a few days (I asked, made sure he knew he tell me to stop/make my kvm lower priority) and I was only seeing 2-6% ni, even when i was at 90 - 100% cpu. That's a lot less than I was expecting, and super reasonable.

NYPD have been stopping people and asking them to upgrade to iOS7

I would hazard that the majority (if not all) spying is not done at the phone level, but the carrier level. A cell phone, by design, has to send calls/text via the carrier, as well as them always knowing your coarse location via tower triangulation, not to mention baseband version. It would...

NYPD have been stopping people and asking them to upgrade to iOS7

If the long-term storage of metadata is spying, than everything you own is a "spy device" down to the feature-phone and land-line that you make calls on, as there's long term metadata being stored about those calls too. E-Mail? Same. EZ-Passes or similar? You bet. Cars? Sure - license plate...

NYPD have been stopping people and asking them to upgrade to iOS7

Spying implies that it does so without my knowledge or consent. Sharing my location on facebook/twitter/foursquare isn't spying, it's sharing my location. Unless you want to claim that my phone is covertly sending data to the NSA for the purposes of them monitoring me, which is a bit of a...

Would you consider a car "hacked" if someone gets a picture of the key and makes a new one? http://lifehacker.com/shloosl-copies-your-house-keys-using-a-smartphone-photo-789114803 I wouldn't, and that's what this is. You have to take your key out to unlock the car, so someone can always get a...
