    DNS hosting options?

DNS Made Easy is probably the best managed DNS service out there. If you really want to stick with Rage4, which I wouldn't, because even though they have some nice features they're REALLY slow (see http://www.solvedns.com/nameserver/ns1.r4ns.com and http://www.solvedns.com/dns-comparison/...

Coffee. What are you drinking and what would you recommend?

McDonald's uses different coffee in different regions. In the northeast US, they use Newman's Own Organics, made by Green Mountain Coffee, which is a shockingly good Fair Trade blend and not cheap at all. In some (perhaps most) regions they definitely do use terrible coffee, but it's not quite...

    Namecheap $5.88 Register & $3.88 Transfer

If that's the case, why haven't loads of other Namecheap domains been compromised? Do you have evidence it was Namecheap's fault and wasn't something like guessing or stealing BlueVM's password from elsewhere?

Heh, did you actually look at the cookie policy?

Coffee. What are you drinking and what would you recommend?

Gevalia isn't premium coffee. When I was in Sweden, it was sold right alongside other middle of the road supermarket brands. It being "premium" is a mythos that owner Kraft Foods (the same company that owns Maxwell House) is trying to create to increase sales in the US. You know, it's from...

    Quality VPS reseller program?

It sounds like you're offering a premium service -- and if that's the case you should use a premium provider. No low-end host is on the same level as Linode. Isn't providing the best service possible for your clients (assuming they're paying for that with you, which it sounds like they are)...

    €1,99 dedicated server

OVH is family-owned and has no investors. They also claim to be profitable and the fact that they're able to self-finance $80 million of a $270 million expansion (the rest being a bank loan) means they must be. You can't reinvest unless you're making a profit -- that's simple math.

    DigitalOcean vs Vultr vs Mothership1?

What's really funny is that stuff that worked (well, "worked") when I used it a couple months ago is apparently now broken: Useful settings page, no?

    €1,99 dedicated server

Yeah: though I don't think either OVH or Online.net are particularly likely to go out of business, Online is almost definitely the safer of the two since it's a subsidiary of a company that's about 1,800% larger than OVH by revenue.

    DigitalOcean vs Vultr vs Mothership1?

Mothership1 has the absolute worst control panel I've ever seen, by a landslide. It's like a case-study in how not to make a custom panel. Equally damning is the fact that their VM performance, at least when I tried one a couple months back, is decidedly mediocre. I wish I'd saved my ServerBear...

    WhoIS and domain information archive?

The View New Content page goes blank at times or there are very few latest items shown

I've run into an incorrectly blank View New Content page a number of times as well. I go to it using a bookmark so I know it's not because I'm clicking it on the wrong page.

Rage4 "Prey-as-you-go" extortioncast DNS business model

^ Good point: that is a shocking and most likely illegal breach of privacy. I'm wondering about the country and registrar as well.

    New OVH North American DC

Talk about a misleading thread title! This is just an expansion of an almost two-year-old datacenter.

    cPanel Supports LiteSpeed Web Server

Yeah, the developers really ought to be ashamed of themselves for trying to limit free speech. I'll play around with OpenLiteSpeed but I'd never pay for LiteSpeed, or suggest it to anyone else, because of that clause's implications (both legal and principled). It's all too bad because LS truly...

    Importance of a SLA

KuJoe linked a nice table already but yeah, your numbers are (literally) a hundred times higher than they should be. 99.99% uptime is 4 minutes and 23 seconds of downtime a month. 99.999% is just 26.3 seconds. It's 99% that's 7h18m and 99.9% that's 43m50s.

Does anyone offer Xen servers anymore?

Don't let this segment of the market fool you -- Xen is undoubtedly the overall market leader since almost all the biggest providers (including the biggest, Amazon; plus Rackspace, Linode, etc.) use it. And there are a few great Xen providers here, like XenPower (and parent Prometeus), Inception...

How do you like your VPSes?

512MB of RAM is my go-to default now, mostly thanks to the influx of hourly-billing providers. RAID yes, 15GB is usually plenty of storage though most providers give more than that so it's usually a non-issue. I know in most cases I'll never come close to using it all but I prefer at least a...
