Looking For Highly Experienced Admins in Atlanta

Almost applied for this when it was posted but I can't give up Secure Dragon. I would have loved to move back to the east coast (and only a 7 hour drive to my house in FL so visiting family and friends back home would be so much cheaper than flying).

    InterWorx CP Review

The API documentation is a little annoying. Very basic and a little hard to understand for novice coders like me.

    BuyVM - New website design?

I like the new design a lot. @Francisco any chance of parting with the old design (not for the SD website, we just got a new face lift, but for another non-commercial website I'm working on)?

    cPanel Supports LiteSpeed Web Server

While I agree that this has nothing to do with free speech (not sure how that was interpreted from my original post because I never use the free speech argument on the internet as it doesn't apply here), I do question what you mean by the bolded part above. How can the software developer be...

    ChicagoVPS acquires 123systems

Anybody else unable to unsubscribe from their mailing list? I just got a few of these e-mails and attempts to unsubscribe are met with "No client account was found with the email address you entered" meaning they are generating this e-mail from something other than 123System's WHMCS.

    cPanel Supports LiteSpeed Web Server

We used LiteSpeed for a while, but their EULA goes against our Terms of Service so we had to either drop them or terminate paying clients who had been with us for a while. Just make sure you read the fine print before you start using their software as they actually have a clause that disallows...

    Linux on PogoPlug

I got mine as a gift but didn't have any use for it so I put Arch Linux on it to play with. I used it for like a week for testing some monitoring scripts but my NAS is more powerful so I couldn't justify keeping it running. It is one of the few things I kept during my move so I still have it but...

    Any CenturyLink customers here?

Within my building we have about 20 unhidden wireless APs and about 1/4th of them are things like "screw_FCC", "torrentcity", "piratedload" (not sure if it's supposed to be pirated load or pirate dload), etc... so my neighbors are probably burning through bandwidth and we don't need a 40/10Mbps...

    RaptorNode has been apparently hacked.

They host their website on a cPanel server, this is why I try to avoid hosting critical websites on a shared webserver with other websites since I can guarantee the cPanel server has a few Wordpress installs which are major targets and easily the weakest link on the server. EDIT: More info...

How much do you spend on Virtual Servers?

I have a 32MB one for my ZNC and a 500GB Backup VPS. I also use 2 KVM VPSs for VPNs, but those are shared by other people also.

    [Topic Split] Budget Services

IPs aren't free, but two pennies a month isn't exactly expensive either.

    Any CenturyLink customers here?

Their biggest selling point is that they are saying each apartment in the building will get a dedicated line instead of multiple apartments sharing one uplink so we won't see congestion during peak ours like we do now, but since I use IPv6 I never see any issues. IPv4 Traceroute to Tampa...

    Any CenturyLink customers here?

As of this week I have the option of switching from Comcast to CenturyLink at my apartment and CenturyLink will give us money to cover the cancellation fees if we want to. My biggest concern is IPv6 since I utilize IPv6 more than IPv4 on anything that's important to me, can anybody with...

What do you consider valid justification for IP space?

Basically like @BlackoutIsHere said, if the justification is "SEO" then I just refund their payment. Other than that, it's on a case-by-case basis since not every situation is the same.

    Importance of a SLA

We offer a 99.9% SLA and will issue up to a full month's credit if the downtime exceeds ~44 minutes per month. The "catch" is that the client has to request the SLA as we don't issue them automatically (I've explained why in the past and why it benefits clients when we don't automatically issue...

    URPad Claiming new WHMCS Vuln

We updated our development install and haven't noticed any issues. We're waiting a bit before upgrading our production install.

    Windows System Administrator

One thing I like about Windows is if I have a problem with something and I use Google to find a solution, 9 times out of 10 I'll get a TechNet article that I can forward to the engineers so I don't have to try some duct tape fix that isn't approved by Microsoft and has to be run by our security...

Any good deals on dedicated servers?

DelimiterVPS had some good deals on their HP BL460c G1 blades with dual Intel Xeon X5150s and 16GB of RAM for $20/month (quarterly) or $30/month if paid month-to-month. Looks like they have stock right now also. I had one of these boxes for 3 months but they were routing their IPv6 traffic...

Spamhaus. A good or bad force in the industry?

So they blocked all one of your dedicated IPs because people were reporting your illegal site for spam? Those monsters!
