More router fun with DNS phishing

It's probably worth checking your routers again for firmware updates. A couple older router vulnerabilities like the d-link and newer ones that affect zynos, tplink, and trendnet routers. https://www.team-cymru.com/ReadingRoom/Whitepapers/2013/TeamCymruSOHOPharming.pdf Usual mitigation by...

Something less completely useless is http://riemann.io/dashboard.html Way more effort to setup though.

Hey Xen people - what is rcu_sched?

https://wiki.edubuntu.org/Kernel/Configs/RaringToSaucy CONFIG_RCU_NOCB_CPU Is now y on saucy. Previous was default which was N. I don't know if it was turned on be because someone wanted to debug jitter issues, or that it's a new policy going forward. It can also be used for low powered...

    Apache issue with default site.

When you re-enabled the default, make sure it's 00-default in sites-enabled.  Also ensure it has no ServerName that would otherwise preclude it from being used.

<128MB RAM VPS in Europe (OVZ, +-5GB storage, 1 IPv4)

Wouldn't github.io be a better choice for something you're asking people to wget | bash?

    Running a RabbitMQ server

My bad.  Sometimes I forget which site I'm reading :P  Thanks for bringing up RMQ.

    Running a RabbitMQ server

Fanout?  I'm not entirely sure we're talking about the same thing.  The HWM governs when the flow control kicks in for publishers.  A fanout would merely consume N times more memory, faster.  The default HWM is set to 40% of the system memory, so on a measly lowendbox we're not talking much...

    Running a RabbitMQ server

For log buffering, be sure to monitor for high water mark events. Rabbitmq is all fine and good until it starts blocking inputs :). Mind you, it's not RMq's fault but it does happen if you're not draining fast enough.

As part of the percentage of the population that can't read white text on dark, I welcome the current light theme :)

    VPSBoard New Logo

I think it's probably due to the 'callout' logo that looks a lot like notification prompts on many other sites that's doing it for me.  Having to hover over it to get to "View New Content" kinda wigs out a part of my base animal brain.

    VPSBoard New Logo

I like the design, but why does it dim/pulsate on the actual forum?  I thought I had a message notification or something :P

Just curious if you've submitted a ticket to them (Vultr) with the traceroute and their response.

    Ukraine - Russia Situation

I should probably point out that despite my sometimes cynicism in this matter with regards to the rumblings that go on in the rarefied air of politics, the servicemen stationed at the bases are not sneaky Russian bastards that are bent on occupying Crimea.  They've been put in an awkward...

    Ukraine - Russia Situation

Russia's Black Sea Fleet is stationed in Sevastopol - hence the reference to 'local self-defense forces'.  This is not referring to the paramilitary operations going on near the local parliament and near Simferopol.  Those are just extremely well-armed hobbyists who happen to drive vehicles with...

    Ukraine - Russia Situation

Kinda more economically symbiotic.  Russia supplies about 30% of EU continental gas, a majority of which goes to Germany.    Sure the EU has power over Russia but ending bilateral trade would pretty much kill both.  Probably why no one is taking the US seriously when they rattle the trade...
