How can we make the Daily Server Deals website a better experience for you?

I just figured out there is no way to reset your password for dailyserverdeals if you don't remember it. Am i missing something? Anyway here is a list of bugs i found and reported about 3 months ago, these seem to be still present (or for some i can't verify if they are still present since i...

    SSD Server

Long term continuous high speed writes will wear out and kill the SSDs, but anyway i will try to make you an offer. What will you use it for? What other features do you need (IPs, network, etc.) ?

ARIN Stock Changes Feb 2014 - Down to 1.38

The /12 from IANA was 2-3 days ago, it's old news. Also a /12 increases the stock by only 0.06. This morning the stock has increased by the equivalent of a /10. Maybe they have decided to put back in stock that /10 they had reserved "to help the ipv6 deployment when ipv4 runs out". edit: It's...

Back To School special - 42% OFF for Raspbery Pi

The shipping cost would probably be higher than what the RPi is worth after two years. Besides these are not stock RPis, we make some hardware modifications.

Huge increase in brute force attacks?

I am sorry to disappoint you, but this is not security. Only allowing ssh logins for 5 seconds every minute only reduces the risk from bruteforcing by a factor of 12. It is much better to just allow ssh from only a handful of static, trusted IPs. Filter everything else.

Huge increase in brute force attacks?

@Mid what if the server's time is off? Or your time is off? Or you are trying to login from some slow lagged wifi... Imagine the frustration.

    Leaving SolusVM

Why now? I mean a few months ago they seemed much worse than today. Now it seems they (SolusLabs) are finally awake and trying to move things in the right direction.

Sanity check - disk speed testing

Well, disk caching is there for a purpose and is used in real world situations. You are trying to bypass the disk caching with your artificial benchmark, but this is not a real workd usage scenario.

You wouldn't download a car, would you? How about, 3D print a castle?

I am not a building expert, but the build quality of this castle looks bad. And with no steel inside the concrete to reinforce it, i wouldn't want to sit inside.

    Let's talk retirement.

While some people might live to 90 years old, i doubt many in the IT indurstry will. Unless you take a good care of yourself, with regular excercising, etc., but most ITs don't.
